The Lost Diary Of Count Von Cosel

Ganz interessant zu lesen. Es handelt sich jedoch um kein Tagebuch. Viel mehr versucht er zu erklären, die Leser zu überzeugen, warum er so gehandelt hat. Wenn man sich mit der Geschichte beschäftigt hat, weiß man auch, dass er viele Dinge über die sogenannte "Beziehung" nicht beschrieben hat, sich gar nicht in dem Buch auseinander gesetzt hat. Und das macht die Geschichte eigentlich so skuril und "sonderlich". Diese Infos wird aber jeder im Internet finden.

"A True Twisted Tale Of Love After Death" - Dieser Sub-Titel ist mehr als treffend. Gerade das in diesem "Tagebuch" sich eben die Wirklichkeit mit den Einbildungen oder Wunschvorstellungen von Herrn Cosel vermischen macht das ganze verdammt interessant. Leider ist das das einzige lyrische Werk das es con Carl Cosel gibt. Aus einer psychologischen Sicht wäre es sehr spannend zu wissen ob der das in seiner Wahrnehmung jetzt wirklich so erlebt hat oder eben einfach nachträglich so dargestellt hat. Der Fall um ihn bleibt für mich einer der Spannensten Stories die ich je gehört hab. Gibt von mir 5/5 Sterne für das Buch.

A great read about a modern day Frankenstein kind of love. Von Cosel was a man who fell in love with a young girl. She had tuberculosis and he tried in vain to save her life. He was unable to and sadly she died. After she had been buried for a short time he secretly exhumed her body and tried to preserve her. He lived with her body seven years before someone found out.This is his account of this 'love story' and his 'undying love.'

I love reading about mysterious and weird things but I found this book - The "Count" particularly more disturbing and mysterious - or weird! Some people call it a story of true love - I find it more of a story of twisted obsession. [spoiler alert] Keeping the body with him for 7 years - feeding it - trying to keep it some what 'alive' - sleeping next to it - kissing it......YUCK! I'm sorry, for me it was just kind of . . . well, sick. I first heard about the story from an interview I listened to and thought it would be right up my alley - but the interview didn't get deep into the gory details that the book did. I'm no prude, but I found it disgusting. Maybe he was crazy - who knows - but if you like stuff that challenges your gag reflex, by all means pick it up.

Such a interesting view on a seemingly demented event. Although his madness is apparent, it’s easy to get lost on the romanticism of the the story. Highly recommend!
