Just not for me
Seemed like a good book, but to me it was dragging. I couldn't get into this one at all although it had a great story idea to it. Maybe this genre or writing style just isn't for me

Four stars.
Not sure if I’ve ever given Elin Hildebrand just four stars before as I love her books, and really enjoyed this one too, but didn’t enjoy the “Vivi in Heaven” scenario at all. I felt the book didn’t really need it, but clearly other readers appreciated it, so …. It was only towards the end of the novel that I began to guess what had happened so thought-provoking. I love Ms Hildebrand’s style of writing and descriptions of the beautiful island of Nantucket and its varied residents. Can’t wait for the next Hildebrand novel ….

Vivi is Elin
I don't usually like Lovely Bones type narratives but Elin pulls this off, perhaps because Vivi is clearly herself: born in 1969, successful beach read novelist, divorced from a popular Nantucket figure, three teenage/early 20s children.Characters continue to be defined via their signature dishes and Nickel wins the prize for most fillings in a sandwich.

Off Island
Don’t know Nantucket but do love it’s near neighbour, Martha’s Vineyard! Elin Hilderbrand’s stories are always a compelling read with just the right amount of accessorising! You can see every character from their Lily Pullitzer dresses to their whispering angel wine…Enjoy!

Beautiful heartstringpulling story
This story was close to home and heart for me. Lovely build of characters through theor love and loss. Quite heartbreaking at times and equally comforting as the plot u folds from heaven and earth. I sobbed when it ended with the closure it brought in the book and my heart.

Great read
Another lovely tale from Nantucket, weaving some characters from some of her other books. Although technically a tragedy, it works things out satisfactorily with a couple of nice twists to keep you from being complacent in having worked it all out. I've never been disappointed by an Elin Hilderbrand book 🙂

A good holiday read.
A really enjoyable light read. The story was very different, following a woman’s death and her spirit looking back to earth and seeing her family try to cope. Very entertaining and with a satisfactory ending.
