Mental Floss: What's the Difference?

This book is fun and entertaining, if you like Mental_Floss, you will like this book. I will say though, when I received this book, it had a permanent marker stripe on the bottom of the book, across the pages. I have worked in a book store before and usually this denotes that the book is on sale, or in the clearance area. Which kind of stinks, it makes the book look not so new. So it looks goofy on the coffee table and I would look like a cheapo if I gifted this book, this is why this got 4 stars. I don't know if this happened to everyone or just me. I guess this is what you get at the bargain price.

You will like this book if you are into trivia. It gives backgrounds on some common quandaries word origins/usage) and some political ones as well (Shia vs. Sunni).Easy to put down and pick up at any time, as different especially are written as brief chapters in no particular order.Ok to pick up as a freebie but not really worth a big investment. Better to enjoy their magazine and website for more current information.

It didn't have the things I was looking for (mammoth vs. mastodon, porpoise vs dolphin, etc.) . It had many things that are widely known, for example, most people know that the Aztecs were in Mexico and the Incas in Peru. Aztec vs. Maya would have been much better. OK, it is supposed to be quirky, but it could have been more informative.

I've been a Mental Floss fan for some time now, and I really enjoyed this book. It tackles some often confusing items/people and clarifies everything quite well. Well-written, fun, and entertaining, I recommend this book to all.

I never finished reading it - actually read only a few pages - perhaps I will sell in the Marketplace or on eBay?

I enjoyed this quite a bit. Not that it will go down in history as classic literature, but I found it funny and entertaining.
