Hermell Foam Bed Wedge Pillow for Side Sleepers (White)

I was very happy with this pillow. My mother was completely unable to move and was battling bedsores. We along with Hospice could not keep her on her side with just pillows. It was like she would just melt on to her back. This worked wonders and she never complained that it was uncomfortable. She passed shortly after we started using it but I made her so much more comfortable in her last few months.

While this pillow is intended for medical needs, I just wanted a wedge pillow to lean against while in bed, to prop up my head, for reading. Spent hours searching through various options and reading reviews. This was definitely the right choice.1. Cheaper than the other options.2. Just the right firmness.3. Just the right size. Would be better if it were shaped as a right triangle (it's an equilateral) but it's fine.4. Cover is a bit loose fitting, but that also means it's easy to remove, for cleaning. Read reviews of other wedge pillows, and they talk about what torture it is to try to get pillow back into its cover after washing. Some say it's a two-person operation.5. Pillow was shipped in a box larger than the pillow. While you'd think that's obvious and what every shipper would do, read reviews for other pillows. They fold and force them into small boxes, then the pillows come out badly deformed. Pillows costing $50 and up.6. Initially I thought the price was a bit high for just a piece of basic foam rubber inside a zippered cloth bag, but I figure they probably don't sell 10's of thousands of these, so the price needs to be higher to cover costs. It's a niche product.

I'm really glad its made in the U.S. But it seems extremely cheap and yes it is inexpensive which is the main reason I chose it. But many things that are inexpensive are not so cheap as far as quality goes. My use for it is pushed under a click-clack floor chair with high back. The wedge pushed under the seat tips the chair back for extreme comfort. I can't imagine that this wedge could keep a human body positioned because it only weighs a couple of ounces. The cover fits very loosely yet was kind of difficult to remove. I removed the cover to gain traction between the wedge and the floor, the foam having more grip power than the smooth cover. For me the price was right and the item works fine under my chair. I just have doubts about it being effective as a support for a bed ridden person. But maybe it works fine, I don't know.

I use them for my bedridden father to parent bedsores. These are great! I bought 2, 1 for each side. We rotate and sometimes use 1 on 1 side, sometimes 2 on 1 side and sometimes 1 on each side. They come with removable covers that can be washed.

I bought this to keep me from sleeping on my back due to sleep apnea. It is much too flimsy and lightweight to work. The only way it would work is if it was up against a wall to keep it from moving. Otherwise it just moves away from your weight and allows you to turn onto your back. It may work for some uses but NOT to prevent back sleeping. I am returning it.
