Based on the comments, there's a lot of misunderstanding about this product. This topical non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medication (brand name Voltaren) is used in the treatment of certain kinds of osteoarthritis. It works by reducing inflammation in bone joints. It generally takes about a week for effects to be noticed. So yes, it can help with pain by reducing inflammation that may be causing pain, but it's going to take 7-21 days. Those people who say in the comments that they felt better in a few hours are experiencing the placebo effect. Similarly, those who say they stopped using it after a few hours because they still had pain haven't used it correctly or long enough to gain any benefit. Also note from the pictures on the box that it is only to be used in areas where the joint is close to the skin--hand, wrist, knee, ankle, etc--where the medication can penetrate through the skin to the affected area. So don't use it on your back or thigh or anywhere other than shown on the box. To get the best effect, apply the gel 4 times/day for a maximum of 21 days. Finally, this is the lowest price per ounce around.

GREAT FOR SORE KNEES, BACK, ETC. Is the same as Voltaren Gel at a lesser price point. It is an NSAID!

The price for this is very reasonable, especially when compared to Voltaren. The amazing thing is that this stuff really works. I'ver always been skeptical about topical medicine (i.e.- Deep Heat, Ben Gay, Icy Hot). It feels really good on the outside, on your skin but it doesn't really get down inside your body and do much real good. This stuff actually does absorb in and goes to work. If you have arthritic pain in your joints, give this stuff a try. You won't regret it!

Cheaper than brand, works , helps for some TYPES of pain- not all, does decrease inflammation

I’ve been using this gel on and off after long days of walking and household work. It goes on smoothly, absorbs pretty fast, and doesn’t leave a heavy greasy feeling. The scent is also very mild, which I appreciate. The tube lasts a long time and the price is much better compared to similar name brand products. I also like that it’s easy to apply without making a mess. Overall, it’s a convenient option to keep at home for everyday aches and stiffness from normal activity.

I haven’t used this long enough to know if it works as advertised. My comment is about how it smells, which it certainly does. The “aroma” is causing nausea every time I apply it. At first, I didn’t know what was causing the nausea but it didn’t take long to figure it out since it happens after each application. We’re talking 4 times a day. 😕 If this gel works, I want to be able to continue using it … without nausea. I strongly suggest Amazon request/require an unscented version.

I am 76 years old, and my knees, elbows and wrists have been painful for about 3years. This gel has amazed me at how well it works. Before using this product it hurt to stand and when I did stand I had to stay up so I could adjust to the pain and then I could take a few steps. Now I stand without pain. Wish I had tried this years ago. ee
