Worthwhile follow-up, if not as groundbreaking
Following on from Mother Panic's initial volume is certainly a big step; Volume One is big, and surreal, and somewhat unusual storytelling, and I absolutely loved it. Volume 2 is a little more straightforward; while it doesn't do anything as big or as bold as the first time, it does at least keep things moving in a good direction.Violet Paige remains an interesting lead; very dynamic, often flawed, and dark and troubled enough to give events weight without just being overwhelmingly depressing. The core supporting cast holds up pretty well; in particular, having reformed Bat-rogue Ratcatcher as a roommate, and Violet's mother with supposed dementia, remain the most intriguing. The plot arcs here do feel much shorter; giving three issues to each doesn't allow as much breathing room as they could use, but they do still manage to have enough substance to make up for it. In particular, I would've liked to have seen more from the Body Bag killer; hopefully he will return in one of the many Gotham-based books we always have on the stands.

Great
As a dc/batman fan this is somehow connected.

A Little Downturn
Felt a little shorter and like it really lacked the depth of the first volume.
