Can an newer iPhone fit in the side pocket?

Probably not, I can't get my S9 in there so I doubt the iPhone would fit. Think of fitting something like a small umbrella, maybe a thin water canteen. It might fit in the very front pocket, but again that's iffy. Thats one of the few things I dislike about the backpack is my phone doesn't fit anywhere except the front or the main compartments.

Surprised by the size, its roomy and side pockets will hold my galaxyS21. The bow and tassel are very cute. Only downside is I don't think it will last long one side is not sewn very well.
