Great pocket guide to Tokyo
I love having a physical guide you can put in your pocket as you walk around a city. This one comes with a great map and points you in the right direction of things to do for a short stay in Tokyo. The map is particularly helpful given the street system in Tokyo - which is not like in the United States or Europe and will get you lost in a hurry if you're not orienting yourself as you walk along. Heartily recommend to those looking for a quick easy guide to the city. If you're there longer, you might want to look for something more comprehensive (but of course less portable).

Perfect book for travel
I love this book. It is small but packed full of good information for use when we travel, like maps and pictures and lots of information about the country and sights to see!

Fodor's Tokyo's 25 Best, 6th Edition
Whenever I go on a trip, I check to see if Fodor's has a 25 Best book for the location... In general they are great at helping you focus a 1 or 2 day "outing". They are concise, plenty of pictures, location and map info, and formated to easily fit in the back pocket or jacket pocket. The Tokyo book is no different, however apparently Tokyo is so large and modern that there are not a lot of ancient spots to see. Most of the high points are museums, etc., not what I was hoping for from such an ancient culture. No fault of the Fodor's book I don't think, just the destination. It is my first trip to be able spend time in Tokyo, so take my review with a grain of salt.

Best Tokyo guidebook I found. Great pull out map. Nice, compact, colorful
I looked at 3 or 4 guidebooks in the store and walked away with this one as well as a bigger one from Frommers. As it turned out, while I was in Tokyo I never used the Frommers one. This one was better, smaller and had everything I needed. It's compact, includes a wonderful laminated completely separate city map, a good subway map, and has all the major tourism information I needed. I travel a lot, and prefer Fodors to Lonely Planet, Timeout or Frommers. They seem to have a very good editorial staff who make the books compact, colorful and easy to read.

Up to date and useful
Just got back from vacation an the info was up to date and useful in directing us to both mainstream tourist attractions and out of the way eateries and boutiques. The map is very useful in particular since Tokyo is such a huge sprawl with no systematic streets or addressing that I could figure out.
