what is the thickest foam that i can cut

I make my own bases for lord of the rings miniatures and warhammer and this product will cut two inches of the xps insulation pink,blue and white foam no problem. It’s more about the type of foam you use than the thickness, denser foams are more harder to cut through so you will have to go slower and more careful not to snap the wire on the cutter. Again I have only used xps foam as this is perfect for my hobby needs.
