Sharkbite 1/2 Inch MNPT Bathroom Shower Test Plug, 25828Z

This did great. After I plumbed my whole bathroom with pex I used this to test for leaks. I left the shower handle on for about a week to make sure I had no issues. When I turned the shower handle off and removed this plug I had an issue. For whatever reason both connections at the shower manifold started leaking. I was able to stop it by tightening the fittings, but I never would have guessed with the shower handle closed the manifold would leak after a week of being on.

This allows you to plug your new shower outlet so you can pressure test the shower valve before closing up the walls in case of any leaks. This worked great. I actually used this same one 3 times so far. This product was a great idea and so easy to use since it seals with a rubber washer. No need to use teflon tape or paste on it.

Would highly recommend great for remodel jobs and ceramic jobs to prevent then set from ending up in pipe threads and allows for excellent pressure testing

Used this for our shower remodel project, worked perfectly! It was easy to install and didn’t leak 1 drop, even after I turned the water supply back on. It stayed plugged in for about a whole week while I finished the shower remodel project, and we didn’t have any issues.

Item did not properly seal! The rubber gasket just smushed out every time and it would leak. Kinda crazy considering I’ve reused some little tiny plastic caps that I’ve had for probably 2 years maybe 10 different showers and they’ve always worked good! Just wanted these as they are more accessible especially after shower walls or concrete board/tile is up but had to return as they would not work! Also it didn’t state the brand anywhere on the product and I feel the real brand would at least have their shrak logo on it, could be wrong but also have always had great experience with real brand!

This blue stubby did work for testing my shower but I thought with the rubber gasket it couldn’t leak, It leaked after about an hour , luckily I was still around. Removed and installed about 8-10 turns of Teflon tape and was good after that.

These work great, my old ones were made up & required PTFE tape every time I used them, these come with a rubber washer, so quicker to test my connections. A good grip on them also
