Why some retailers are thriving rather than dying from this Pandemic (Must Read)
The demise of retail has been a topic of debate ever since the Sears catalog targeted the brick-and-mortar stores in the 1890s. One hundred years later, e-commerce challenged traditional retail. But retailers have never seen anything with the same impact — rapid and harsh — on the retail sector as COVID-19. This pandemic has impacted the sector hastily and altered the trajectory of retail. In Omni-Channel Retailing: A Strategy for Retailers to Thrive in the Covid-19 Pandemic and Beyond, Dr. Ken Wong, shares great insights on how successful retailers have accelerated the evolution of the industry, stayed ahead of their peers who have failed and gone under. While the pandemic has had widely divergent effects across the various retail subsectors, overall thriving retailers have continued to adapt, innovate, and proving to be resilient through the current challenging period.

A colorful book w/ lots of Canadian retail examples
I like this book because it has lots of relevant examples from Canadian retailers (e.g., Genesis, Air Canada, Petro-Canada, RBC, Walmart Canada, LEGO, MEC, Loblaw, Costco, Roots, CF Malls...etc). It's a colorful book with large photos and graphics, making it a pleasant to read. It's technically a textbook with MCs, activities, and discussion forum questions for each chapter.

Excellent for both retailers and students studying omni-channel marketing
As teachers of omnichannel retail marketing, Ken Wong (author of this textbook, & lecturer based in Canada), and myself (lecturer in New Zealand - Southern Hemisphere) have been extremely frustrated with the current textbooks in the marketplace on omnichannel retail marketing.Ken self-published to solve the problem. He has created a fantastic, clear and easy to follow book that is digestible by:(a) any retailer (bricks & mortar, or 100% online, or a mix) that have finally realised that the reason their customers are slowly disappearing is nothing to do with high prices, better product(s) being offered by their competition, or their lack of being aggressive in their off or online stores... It is all about them NOT embracing the concept of being omnichannel on the platforms where their ideal customer hangs out in today's world, and really understanding what these tech-savvy customers want from them.(b) a university student taking a course based around Omnichannel retail marketing worldwide.Ken breaks the topics down into easy to read sections with lots of examples and references for the reader to get more information.I look forward to my 156339 Omnichannel Retail Marketing students at Massey University in New Zealand reading, absorbing and applying the concepts and material in this book to their practical assignments, while working with retail execs trying to keep up, or encouraging upper management to make the necessary changes.Thank you Ken for beating me to the self-publishing route to solve this problem in a very exciting and dynamic area of digital marketing - the retail shopping industry. You have created a great resource on the topic!

Great textbook for retail students (2021 edition)
It's a great replacement of Poloian's textbook in multi-channel retailing as it has up-to-date (2021) and relevant content. Written by a retail professor who taught this subject, this book has retail examples from Canada, US, Europe, and China with tips to survive the COVID-19 retail challenges. I like the Omni-channel Personal Shopper (OPS) discussion. The chapter activities, discussion Qs, and MCs are interesting and solid. It's a colorful book with 100+ color photos. Highly recommended!
