ProTec PC-2 Humidifier Tank Cleaning Cartridge, 2-Count Packages (1 pack of 2 cartridges)

Tried other similar items and these last longer and control the junk that builds up in the humidifier better than any other brand. They are now the only brand I buy.

I've been using these for a couple of weeks and they seem to work well as intended - which is to extend the amount of time in between humidifier cleanings. I've noticed that the slimy film I would notice on the lid doesn't even start appearing for a couple of weeks - which is a week or more longer than without. I think some of the bad reviews are from people who wrongly believe they never need to clean their humidifier or who think they don't have to do it very often. Wrong. You still need to clean the humidifier. This just lets you go a little longer in between cleanings.

Bought for my humidifier. Works well to keep the water clean. It's required for the humidifier to work properly so will be buying more.

Have included one of these in the water container of a new humidifier every day for a couple of weeks. No sign of slime or discoloration in the well or inside the container itself. I do rinse the container and put in fresh water every day. We'll see how long it's able to do a good job.

These things are awesome! We are on well water and our humidifier would relatively quickly build up a slimy, brown film all along the entire inside of the tank and the diffuser housing. We thoroughly cleaned the humidifier and dropped one of these in and never get any more slime! Totally cured the problem. I never liked not knowing whether that brown slime was getting atomized and into our lungs. Now I don’t have to worry about it at all. We bought a two pack and the first one lasted for well over a month before I finally decided to change it because the crystals inside were slowly dissolving and leaving a very fine powder on the bottom of the humidifier. I wasn’t worried about that powder getting picked up by the diffuser, but thought perhaps it might clog something up over time if I let it collect for too long. I will definitely continue to buy these!

I recently moved and do not have my whole house water purification system. The water in my tank was causing mold/ fungus to grow on the filters within a week. It didn’t help using the filtered water from the refrigerator. I found this product and no more growth- my filters are lasting longer. Has a black substance the first couple of days and then it clears up.

First I bought the AquaStick for my 1-gallon ultrasonic mist humidifier. I put 2 in per the instructions, and it made absolutely no difference -- brown/pink slime appearing within a day, and absolutely disgusting and desperately needing cleaning within a week (as usual).Then I decided to try this one, even though it's more expensive and says it doesn't last as long. But this one actually works -- I've had it in for 2 weeks and only now am I just starting faint traces of brown/pink. The advertised silver content is something like 10x that of the AquaStick, so that might be the reason? Anyways, this is actually worth it -- it's making a HUGE difference in keeping the humidifier clean, and I don't have to worry whether all that bacteria slime is getting in my lungs.

They don't really work to eliminate the white dust from hard water. To be honest, I'm thinking now that that's not what they are meant to do. I can't tell yet if they help keep the humidifier cleaner inside or not.
