I purchased this book in the first year of my relationship to my now-husband (of 30 years). Dr. Gray's words of advice helped us tremendously! I saw myself in many of the passages, the patterns of behavior and speech I was using. Same for my spouse. We all get STUCK in certain patterns of speech, likely because of upbringing and parental behaviors we unconsciously copy. This book can get you UNstuck - making you more aware of your words. And yes, our communications tend to be gender based. My husband and I took turns reading this book out loud to each other and talking about how it impacted us and our relationship. The book is primarily communication focused: the words and emotions each person uses to express feelings to the other and how the other person HEARS it. Gave it as a gift and my friend loved it

This is an amazing book for both men and women. It helped me to understand the different communication styles between men and women as well as better ways to approach my other half when we are frustrated with each other or when I need his help with something. I feel that I have more empathy towards him now and can express myself in a more positive way when we run into a negative situation. I could see how this book can and does save relationships.

This is a proper medication with out a doctor subscribing it . This book helps you understand how the kind set of a men different of a women operates, and that not always the spouse meant something and it’s just the way that gender operates , this is a propped life saver for marriage .

Loved the book. Hit home more than once. Only comment I really have is that my wife says she sees me in it but not necessarily her. 's OK. The book seems to anticipate that, too

Please read this book and save your relationship. Put it into practice and enjoy the results ; very powerful advice for men. If the schools werent so useless they would teach this stuff , something that might actually be useful. Possibly my top book , and cheap

A classic!

Good

I read this book when it first came out decades ago and remember feeling somewhat angry about these differences. Years later, life has shown me that the information in this book is the way it is. Men and women are changing, but some of the wisdom here is timeless and this book remains a great understanding for how relationships work. I have gifted it to friends.
