I feel like this should be the first story and should be read before Vicious....Again feeling like this is my favorite book of Shen’s..... she does have a lot of those you read them and really feel like everyone of them is your favorite!I feel like you can’t compare Shen to other writers - she is just on a whole different level from everyone ... she will ruin you to the point where you can’t read any other books but hers💖💖💖💖💖💖I almost didn’t want to read this book, because by accident I read the story of their daughter first and didn’t love the story that much, definitely didn’t love Melody after that story - so maybe it’s good that i have pretty low expectations of this couple... especially given it’s a teacher student couple.... and I couldn’t imagine that being any good ... until I read this book.BUt the story literally captures you from the first page. Shen just writes so well, her dialogues are so witty, so funny, so captivating - you just simmer in her talent... and enjoy every word. She just has that fun bouncy aura around her....She cracks me up and her writing voice is fun and just so vivacious.....the tempo is always bubbly and bouncy like a happy song as if she is skipping and smiling while writing the story...That wow factor is definitely there...... also also fun fact she is the master of play on words - opening this book I thought that it was a story about a weekend fighter full of anger and need forBruises (don’t even know how I decided to read this book) but you know all her words always hold a deeper meaning....... 💖💖💖💖 she thrives on setting up a cliche and then destroying it and shattering all expectations. This book was so good reader doesn’t even have time to get set up for a cliche that’s how fast she moves the story along.The story was AMAZING💖💖💖💖💖characters are loyal fierce confident and faithful with a great sense of humor.

This was a good prequel. I rate it at a 3.5. I read the kids' story first, so this put a perspective on Jamie and Melody. Although I was thinking it would be more fallback from their relationship, they didn't really face any hardships in this story.

This forbidden morsel was layered with seduction and grittiness that I didn’t want their story to end. As much as I loved reading about Jaime and Melody’s secret affair, I loved that L.J. Shen was able to introduce Viscous, a secondary character that will be getting his own book next. I seriously can’t wait for his book. But in the meantime, if you are looking for a hot, seductive, and titillating forbidden romance that was both naughty and nice then this novella is definitively for you.

I find student/teacher relationship books to be interesting since I'm a teacher, so when I stumbled upon this book I figured I had to check it out. I haven't read the other books in the Sinners of Saint series, but they're pretty popular on TikTok so I'll have to read them eventually. I thought this book was good, but my biggest gripe with it is that it was too short. There wasn't enough information on the romance. I get that this was a novella, but I wanted it to be a whole novel. It also would've been cool to get chapters from both points of view. I think it's worth a read if you have read the other books in this series, like younger man/older woman relationships, or student/teacher relationships.

I absolutely loved vicious book by this author and I really liked the devil wears black by this author and i just read this book defy and i liked this one to plus the font size is perfect most books font is so small it hurts my head to read but this one is perfect size 😊 I recommend all of this authors books 📕

A good story, less heavier than the other books from L J Shen, which is good for me since they put me in a weird stage of mind after finishing them. But I actually thought that their love didn’t develop like the others. Still amazing though.

For a short book it packs in everything you would want in a love story. Mel is out of her depth teaching English Lit to a bunch of rich kids who dont want to listen. She hates the job but beggars cant be choosers when your whole life was to be a ballerina until she broke her leg. One pupil totally ignores her in class, hes always playing on his phone but she gets the impression he is the leader of sorts and even though the kids dont listen they dont play up. When she crashes into his car Jamie takes the opportunity to blackmail her telling her he will tell his headmistress mother if she doesnt meet with him. She has no idea that she is his fantasy and this man/boy shows her how much he wants her. He is eighteen and she is twenty six, she should know better but he does things to her that take her to a different place. Its nearly the end of the year when the s*** hits the fan. She is fired and there is an agreement he will go to Texas Uni and that will be it. It isnt the end though and when Jamie confesses his feelings its just lovely.

I read 'Pretty Reckless' first, which is about Daria, Mel's and Jamie's daughter, and I'm in shock because in that book Melody is a totally different person, and a 'fail' as a mother. So when I read this story I wonder what happened to the sweet, brave and 'don't give a sh*t' about money woman that is picture in this book.I enjoyed it anyway, but I think that town is full of crazy people!

C'mon seriously who doesn't love a great taboo read. This one has taboo written all over it.
