She cooks as good as she looks!
I loved the color online, but was stunned by its beautiful, rich color in person! The packaging protected the pot well during shipping and it came with helpful care and cooking tips.I made my first meal with it this weekend and it turned out so well! I made a beef shin ragu, which requires both stovetop cooking and oven braising, and it turned out great. I was able to get it hot enough to sear the beef and it braised in the oven for a couple hours after that. I’ve made this recipe a few times before and the beef shredded better and seemed more tender than it ever has been when cooked in my Caraway Dutch oven. It already cleaned up well and has deep cleaning directions if needed.I can’t wait to try out some new recipes, and leave it on my stovetop for display in the meantime.

Very impressed!
First of all, my order arrived the same day I made my purchase which is always a plus! Aside from fast shipping, the dutch oven is super beautiful. I have it sitting on my stove as a decoration piece. I love how sturdy and heavy it feels. Definitely the nicest cookware I have ever purchased and would absolutely recommend.

Less expensive China alternative to the well known dutch oven brands.
If you are like me, I've always wanted one of these large Dutch Oven enameled cast iron pots ... but could not justify dropping $300-$400 on a Staub or Le Creusete made version, even though I know this is one of those generational items which gets handed down. There are a lot of these types of Dutch Oven pots on the market for $60 - $150. This one looks and feels the most like the well-known French brands at 50 - 60% less in price. Though 'Designed in the USA' is proudly stamped into the bottom of the pot, a quick search of the cardboard box confirms it was made in PRC ... People's Republic of China.A lot of the less expensive versions of this take the same shape but look a lot less beautiful. The pictures don't lie. It's stunning in person. I really, really wanted the yellow version but all they had was the blue, lime green and red. Red or Orange are the standard colors for this type of pot, so I wanted something different looking. I chose the blue because the lime green might make some foods present less well. For example, how could you not think of Christmas when serving chili in July with the green pot. The blue is beautiful and worthy of display. This is well made! It weighs 12.5 lbs. so if you have trouble lifting things, know that full of food this can weigh close to 15 lbs.! The handles are big enough to grip with oven mits and the steel knob on the lid can get hot but is easy to grip as well. The construction feels solid ... the only thing I will mention is that this seems to be a bit more brittle in the coating than the Staub or LC versions. You can see in my picture that the inner enamel already has chipped away, just during shipping. The book recommends you use the 4 included plastic bumpers when storing the lid on the pot. A bit inconvenient but necessary. While the Staub enamel coating is almost bulletproof, this coating might chip easier, which I guess is to be expected at this price point. This is oven safe to 500 degrees and hand washing is recommended. The plus side of this over a cast iron non-enameled pot is that even a small drop of water will rust a non-enameled pot. The non-enameled pot also needs to be seasoned, which can be a time consuming process. The downside to the storage convenience of an enameled pot is that it won't rust but it can chip, if not stored properly. (Luckily this is beautiful enough to give its own shelf space to.) Also, when braising or cooking meat or sauces, the bottom of the pot can get a baked/burnt on residue. You cannot use steel wool and must use soft sponges or rags in order to clean this properly. Lots of soaking may also need to take place. Is the maintenence worth the hassle? Let's just say you'll never cook in a metal pan again once you taste how great items come out in this Dutch Oven. Chili, French stews, Boulliabase, Beef Bourgeonoigne ... roast chicken/game hen, pork or beef come out spectacular. Moist inside, perfect outside and the flavors seem to come together nicer than when using a thinner pot made of metal. This is the real deal ... wait until you taste the difference. You can also even bake bread loaves or, my favorite, cornbread in this! I wish a recipe book was included. The instructions have only one recipe for lasagna on them.Overall, this is a fabulous product! It has all the looks and 70% of the quality of the $300-$400 pots at a price that is much more affordable. This is nice to look at, comes in a nice giftable box and performs well. The downsides are cleaning it and the fact that the enamel coating is a bit brittle and can crack easily. If you are looking for a Dutch Oven but don't want to go crazy on price, I recommend this one.

Excellent Pot
I'm quite pleased with this dutch oven. I don't do a ton of cooking, as there's only me to cook for, and mybecoming familiar with his new method of cooking will of course be protracted. That to say I'm really atthe beginning of this journey and it's really all new to me.

Works well.
My wife uses it mostly for making soups. It does a great job, she loves it, and it's less expensive than some other brands.

The disappointment
Everything you cook sticks to the bottom and no matter what amount of liquid is in the pot, just a big disappointment

Quite Beautiful and Heavy with no flaws that I Could Find
This enameled cast iron dutch oven is a thing of beauty with deep jewel tones over nice heavy cast iron. This is a nice heavy pot. You are definitely going to get your workout lifting this one around and that's exactly what you want.It comes well packaged. There were not cracks, chips or dings in my pot. This type of pot will last a lifetime and become an heirloom so treat it accordingly and never put it in a dishwasher since it is cast iron and don't use metal utensils to avoid scratches. This pan is destined for my son's first apartment. He loves to cook and is ready to try some braising. This pot is the perfect pot for braising and pretty much any type of cooking that you like.He and I have already tried it out with some chili for these nippy days--and yes! the 50's are nippy in Texas y'all! The perfect dutch oven to make food for a family or take to a potluck where you can show off this beauty! This is a pan that you leave out on the stove for decoration as well as function. This Dutch Oven was Designed in the USA and made in China.
