Very good read
All in all a very good read, fast paced, easy to read and like the first book hard to put down!Let down for me by an unsatisfactory ending, I hope there is a third book to set that right, but all in all a very good book

Even better than the first book - a frenetic rollercoaster ride you won't want to get off
I loved the second book, maybe even more than the first. I have read both books in the space of 5 days and enjoyed both immensely. I would say that this book is more gory than the first but with some fantastic action scenes. Again, as in the first book, the authors move the story along at a frenetic pace, not even letting you draw breath before you are into the next bit. What a rollercoaster ride. So pleased I got both of these for less than £2 in total - money well spent I would say. The first book ended on a real clift hanger. This one did tie up some loose ends but there is obviously so much left to tell. Please please please let there be a third.

The story continues
Not a bad follow-up to the first activation book. A little short with some tedious dialogue, but reasonably enjoyable nonetheless.

A thoroughly good action thriller
Having stumbled across the first book of this series and enjoyed it, I was eager to read the second. It was certainly no let down, with a good balance between action and description. I wasn't overly keen on the Americanization of the two main characters, considering that they are supposed to come from Northern England, which is why I gave it 4 stars instead of 5, but apart from that, I'd recommend this book to anyone who is interested in action thrillers, conspiracy plots and/or post-apocalyptic scenarios.

Punchy and exciting
This fast-action thriller moves directly on from where First Activation finished so you need to have read that for the story to make sense. It’s dystopia with knobs on and just as we think the brothers, Harry and Jack, are making progress, the rug is pulled, often very violently, from under them and they are back on their own. The story is dark, threatening and, for the reader, exciting, but I don’t want to give too much away. It’s one of those books in which things aren’t always what you think they are and you are amazed at the fortitude of people who have to make a way of life after the events in Book 1.The writing is clear and punchy and if you love a thriller, especially one in a near-future setting, this series is for you. It would make a stunning film. I really look forward to seeing how they cope in the next book. I want to know what happens. I want, for some people at least, a happy ending.

i preferred the first book
i immediately purchased this as i loved the first book (LOVED IT!) this one wasn't quite so good in my opinion simply as i was into the 'people killing each other for some strange reason, and i must survive this!' story line. this book didn't really carry that on; it moved on to the how and who and why, which it obviously needed to do at some point but i was still gutted about it. i assume there will be another 'activation' and i will probably buy it although i can't say for sure, but that will probably be it for me. loved the first activation book though; just fantastic.

Pretty good as far as 'mysterious apocalypse' books go
This is a pretty engrossing book overall. One thing that I have to say is that you really need to re-read the fist book before starting this one. If you don't you'll be struggling to remember who the side characters such as Martina, Lea, Jerry & Anthony are.Harry & Jack seem like a handy pair of fellows to have on your side when the apocalypse comes! Or perhaps not given the number of their accomplices that die during the course of this story. I'm looking forward to the next book. Does anyone know when it's due?

A good potty fiction that is a cocktail of Bond, Bourne, and World War Z
This book is the second (and the final?) installment of a series. I received the first book free in a promotion, and on a lazy day decided to give it a go, and found it to be pretty neatly paced. Seeing that there was a second one, and that there seemed to be no one who has bought it, I purchased this as an encouragement to the authors, and I was not disappointed.Like the first one, this book is no great piece of literature. It plays out like an interesting, not to cerebral, fast paced thriller, and if you are a regular reader, it would take you just as long to finish it. It is a watered-down, 2hour-read mix of James Bond, Bourne, and Mission Impossible, and world warZ.If you are planning to kill some time in an airport or in a flight, or want to read something that will keep you distracted from the daily disturbances of life for a couple of hours and you like things losely based on the zombie apocalypse, get this one.You may thank me later.

fast paced with catchy plot. No zombies but a really interesting twist on the whole end of the world modus operandi. At times the language of the authors failed them and went into tails spin with hollow phrases like "they/the corporation was truly evil".Nevertheless, read the whole thing in a day and went for the second book. A bit bummed out there was no real closer and it seems these books a part of a longer series that's still a work in progress.

Lea makes good
Super awesome follow-up to the first book! The characters and the depth to which they have been described and built up is so much fun. I really really hope there is a third book forth coming. The 2 brothers have had to deal with so much since arriving to NYC and their continued loss of new friends is adding up quickly, but even those characters have some very good build up before they are left aside. This story is quite scary if it were true, but even more for me are the people who really think it is best to try and learn-up society in this way and then re-build with whomever is left-over.I really am glad the authors did not dwell on the technology but continued to build on the human side of the issue. If you liked the first one, you will like this one just as much.
