Awesome product at a very reasonable price.
My old Adcom preamp that I bought used years ago was getting a tad noisy, so I started looking around for a new unit. Most component preamps these days are not exactly inexpensive ! Since I already had an Emotiva XPA-2 power amp, purchasing the PT-100 made sense, as long as the quality didn't disappoint. The sound quality from this unit is really impressive. Listening to a live concert is like "being there". To me, the only downside to this unit is the lack of external bass, treble and balance controls. Almost all features are accessible through menus. (I am 55 years old, kind of old- school, and not a fan of menus, unless i am at an eatery). But this is easily overlooked, considering the reasonable cost of the PT-100. Would I recommend this unit to a friend ? Without hesitation !

Great sound
I am quite happy with this preamp. The reason for 4 stars is simply because they failed with making the stereo tuner user friendly. It is so difficult to operate the stereo with only having such few buttons on the face of the unit and the remote. Other than that I am happy with it. It looks great in the rack too!

The Emotiva PT-100 and Emotiva A-300 sounded terrible i honestly felt like this is a joke right
The first thing i noticed after boxing was the volume knob it was sooooo!!!!! cheap feeling i almost boxed it right back up to ship back, but i hooked it up to the A-300 amplifier and started playing some music and i was blown away totally in shock. The Emotiva PT-100 and Emotiva A-300 sounded terrible i honestly felt like this is a joke right? Where is the camera's.This setup was by far the worst 2 channel audio i have ever heard period and it is my fault period i mean common how stupid must i have been to think i could get a quality built Amp & pre-amp for $700.00 i feel like a idiot. Now here is were it gets even worse i sold my 30 year old Adcom GFA 555 and GFP 565 to buy the emotive thinking it's 30 years newer it will blow away the old Adcom gear unfortunately i was wrong very wrong. I did get my money back from Emotive so it cost me $100.00 shipping to find out Emotive sounds worse than plastic stereos sold at Wall Mart.I did not buy my emotive gear from Amazon i purchased directly from Emotive and the reason i am posting a review on Amazon is simple i was banned from the Emotiva forum on their website because i did not like the gear. serious they banned me because my opinion. So if you have owned good gear like Parasound , Rotel or Adcom and think this Emotiva will sound like them or better think again.

Good sound, has phono input and headphone jack
The tuner-preamp is not initially user friendly, and I immediately did not like the unit. It is connected to a Parasound power amp. The remote is useless, initially...took me over 15 mins to figure out how to add FM presets...needed a Youtube video to figure it out.Feed a subwoofer from preamp - good featureThe tuner is pretty much worthless..they don't even list the specs for FM, because they either don't know, or are ashamed at the lousy performance...an old Fisher 400 pickes up more stations in stereo then this "modern" unit.Phono sounds very good. I feed a streamer through the aux, and works fine...subwoofer good.Probably better units out there, so keep looking.

Great flexibility and sound - near worthless manual and convoluted tuner operation
Wonderful sounding preamp and a best buy for the money in a stereo system. But how in the hell do you get the tuner to work? I never claimed to have a first class mind but I've always gotten most anything to work in audio, but I'm stumped on this one! Manual is more confusing than anything and why they could not put a simple step-by-step example in there is beyond me. After spending an hour on my knees with the remote and amp volume knob I am still no closer to cracking the code. Good thing I seldom listen to local FM.

Unbeatable performance for the money
Although I gave this unit a 5 star rating 4.5 would be more appropriate. The sonic performance of this pre amp is just as good as units I've used at 3 times the cost.Pros:Sonically cleanFM receptionWell constructed3 year warrantyCons:Limited function buttons on the remoteScrolling through too many menus to set FM stationsNo tape monitor loop

Heavy Unit that just works. Excellent sound quality.
Replaced an old power hungry Harmon Kardon AVR520 I was using for a 2.1 media setup. Works very well with UPA-200 from Emotiva. Excellent quality and value!

Very versatile and very affordable
I have been using my pt 100 for a couple of weeks now and am enjoying it very much except for the lack of a seperate knob for the tuner. I find the menu quite confusing. It would be nice if they made a video so dummies like me can operate it. Other than that, it is great having the built in dac as well as a good phone input. Bluetooth without having to buy a separate adapter would have been nice. I bought my pre amp from Amazon and it doesn't look like they sell the Bluetooth adapter
