I bought this specifically for the thinner and lighter chain link, similar to what RuffWear provides with their offering. However, the Tuff Pupper sizing and size range is off by a lot at least for my GSD. My Medium Tuff Pupper (light and dark gray) is longer on its shortest setting, than my Large Mighty Paw collar, next to it, which is currently adjusted to the middle of its size adjustment range. I am almost curious about buying the small Tuff Pupper collar, but at this point I think I will just return the Tuff Pupper collar and continue using the Mighty Paw collar with the oversized clunky chain. If I did not have the Mighty Paw collar, I would probably keep the Tuff Pupper collar as it seems to be good quality.

I really like the quality of this product, I have a medium size in red and a small size in blue, however, I do not exactly like the sizing on these collars. My dog I bought the medium one for is ~18 in. at the base of his skull and the collar has to be tightened all the way and is still a little too big for him, the chain for the martingale is very long so I don't really worry too much about it slipping off of him, plus he doesn't really try to pull out of his collars, so it works fine. I bought the small one for our new dog, who was just slightly smaller than our current one, to be safe on it not being too big. Since I knew that he had never really been walked on a leash before we got him, and I didn't want any chance of him slipping his collar and running off. The first time I brought him outside when he came home, he slipped out of it when he hit the end of the leash. I had it at it's loosest point because the small is A LOT smaller than the medium and the chain for the martingale is not very long at all. Since then I have tightened the collar quite a bit so he can't slip out nearly as easily, but I make sure not to push it when he tries to pull.I do still really love the product, I like the two toned color scheme on them and that you have a place to attach their tags, leash, and another leash attachment option that's not the martingale (I have a a little light for when we go out in the dark on that one).I added a picture of the ones I have side by side for comparison.

Wonderful collar. Well made. Very sturdy. Easy to clean. The reflective stripe is highly visible at night. I like the clip feature. It is easier than sliding it over my big dogs head. The only reason I dropped a star is because of the incorrect description of sizing. My dog is right on the borderline of sizes, so that was very important to us.

This is a good collar. Sturdy chain, well made webbing, clasps are heavy duty. All other comments about sizing are absolutely true. I’m glad I read them. I have two big boys, who usually take a large and a medium-large. The medium fit them both.

I listened to other reviews and sized down to a M for my 70lb lab but it still slips right over his head at the shortest length. A small will definitely fit him better. The buckle also comes undone as soon as it has the smallest bit of squeeze pressure on it. I didn't want a locking buckle which is why I went with this one but now it seems a bit too risky. Overall it seems nice quality, just very large.

Well made. The flaw is that if you have a white dog, you will have ring around his neck! My white dog's neck is now dark gray because the color on the collar bleeds thru if he gets wet. Not for a white dog!

Way too big. Had to downsize. Still too big even with adjusting the strap. A two I gave up. The material okay and the chain ok.
