Great firestarter
Lots of sparks, ignites dry tinder quickly and even damp tinder. A little hard to hold onto if your hands are damp, i wrapped a strup of duct tape around the one end and it was much easier to hold onto.

Did I need these? Nope. Do they work great? Yup.
I don't want to brag too much, but I have what you could call a plethora of lighters. Too many, my wife might say. Do I have magnesium blocks? Storm-proof and strike anywhere matches? Steel and flint? Several other ferro rods? Yes, yes I do. Do I regularly use any of them? Not really. Have several fire kits though! That being said, this particular rod throws GREAT sparks. Don't lie to yourself. It feels pretty cool when you can start a fire without a lighter or matches, especially in front of someone else. If my kids or their friends or my no-so-outdoorsy friends are around, I break out one of these to get things to get a fire started. Are they kinda impressed? Certainly. Should they be? Absolutely. Why? Because I made magic sparks fly from a metal stick. This would get you burned at the stake a few hundred years ago. Super thick and sturdy, long enough for a good grip. No jokes.

What you see it what you get
If you order a two-pack - notice that only one comes with a lanyard and a striker. And you only get one pack of fire starters. other than that you will want to get the larger ones. you get more for the money and easy to handle when wet

The two pack isn’t a full two pack
Looks like decent quality. I got the 1/2 inch. Sparks pretty easy. I do like the thickness and length. But took off a star because I got the double pack thinking they both would come with the lanyard but only one is equipped with that. That’s a little annoying.

Works as described; Check your packaging!
I purchased the 5.91 x 1/2 pair and one of the smaller versions. An apology to BCHARYA is necessary. I thought a previous, smaller rod was missing when it was the angle I looked at the box, so I asked for a refund. It came with other items and was laying up against the side of the box in a way I was only able to find it by moving the box. Rods are simple to use and perform the same as any other. The leather cord will break with a slight tug, so I suggest finding a replacement. Paracord could work. Plenty of sparks per strike! My technique stinks, but I can tell it'll be a cinch to start a spark with practice. I like that the striker is both a scale and small ruler. It's part of my Bushcrafting starter kit I'm building.

Great large Ferro rods
Good Ferro rods. They are large and should last a long time. We started a fire easily while camping. I bout another set for my bug out bags.

Good kit
Decent kit, but there's only one striker. I'd thought there would have been one for each of the ferro rods.
