Escape MIPS

Buy the proper fit (they are sized) and you will be happy with the safety features and comfort of this helmet. If you are riding around cars, even on less traveled or narrow roads, this is the one. UPSIDES (1) It is reasonably light for the protection. There are lighter helmets, but this puppy properly protects your head without a lot of slide--if your helmet slides around it will NOT protect you. There are back of the head cross straps that assist greatly for this. (2) Air does flow thru when you are moving. (3) Available in white--white reflects light rather than absorbing it, so it is a cooler choice. The roads absorb heat and they make the environment around you and your bike hotter, so why add to the heat around you with a dark or colored helmet? (4) It has LIGHTS--rechargeable LED. This is for safety: Useful at dusk, in the dark, in shady dappled light, or even daylight to make you more visible to motorists--especially in traffic. (5) Well constructed. DOWNSIDES: (1) Lights require recharging, so you need to plan for that. A USB charging cable is provided, you just need to use it. Of course, you can ride without the lights. The charge seems to last a long time--I've not run the batteries (internal) down yet and have only remembered occasionally to plug it in. (2) More expensive then some others. You get what you pay for.

Well made, MIPS certified, fits comfortably, love the head and tail lights, looks cool and great value for the price.

I firmly believe this helmet saved my life! A few weeks ago, I was struck by a vehicle while riding my bike and made a hard impact with the ground after being thrown off my bike. My head hit the ground, but this helmet protected me completely. Surprisingly, the only damage it sustained were minor scratches and dents. I can’t imagine what would have happened if I had been using a budget helmet! I highly recommend this product.

I’ve rather enjoyed this GIRO helmet. The adjustability is pretty good. But beware that the strap clip can ease out of the slot at times, while putting it on…can’t imagine what would happen upon an incident. Must be a design flaw. But it’s too late for a return, might look into a warranty claim. Color is great (black—what can go wrong,) and the quality—outstanding! Fit is extremely comfortable! And ease of use predictably satisfying! As a criticism, GIRO should add two important features: 1. USB-C charging, and 2) turn signal capability. It just seems to me that they cheaped out on this product, that could be so much better, if these two recommendations were met! Overall, great product, from an extremely reputable company, which is to be expected!

I had a cheaper commuter helmet and the fit was loose making it useless. This helmet easily adjusts to fit great. The rechargeable lights in the front and back of helmet are nice so drivers can see me at night. I wouldn’t necessarily go without a bike light for visibility. This is a great and safe addition for riding when it is dark out.

Great helmet. It’s look amazing on! I was nervous the white might be too loud but the matte coloring look amazing. Lights work well and I’m overall pleased with my purchase.

Very comfortable helmet. Got it for the Mips rating and built-in lights for safety. Tried to order locally, but wasn't available. Definitely recommend!

This is a sturdy, solid helmet and the built-in lights are great. It also has a terribly designed chin strap clasp, which very easily slides off the straps. It has fallen off while I was carrying the helmet, which makes me very suspect of how well the helmet would stay secure in a worst case scenario. I'll be returning it, which is a shame because otherwise it's a great helmet.
