C&S Hot Pepper Delight No Melt Suet Dough 11.75 Ounces, 12 Pack

I have a squirrel problem yet I want to feed my birds easily without much to do. This stuff is the ticket! Squirrels have left it alone. Little birds have chowed down and I have enjoyed watching them where I hung the suet container in my tree by my window. Great buy!

And squirrels do not.

I was skeptical about this product, but I'm pleasantly surprised! I had squirrels eating my non hot one left & right. But they still jump over to my woodpecker feeder and nope they don't like it!!

Editing my review: I still love this product and I have never seen a squirrel go for a second bite. Totally solves my issue with squirrels and the birds love it.After using exclusively this suet I have a couple of nitpicks: It is squirrel proof but not rat proof. The rats seem to not mind it. Not as big a problem as the squirrels since they don't break my feeder, and don't scare off birds since they only come out at night.Also my latest shipment was all discolored along the top, across the whole 12 pack. Some sort of issue with QC/packaging perhaps. Birds don't mind so leaving it 5 stars but hoping future shipments don't have this problem.

C&S, a brand with good quality wild bird food, that I have been buying for a few years! I like their no melt suet dough options to feed the array of wild birds in my yard! From Blue Jay's and Woodpeckers to Golden Finch and Doves, they all seems to love this product!I really like that they do no melt in the summer heat! I also like the fact that they are offered in many different flavors to attract more bird breeds!

I like to feed woodpeckers and other birds but every time I put out suet the squirrels and raccoons ate it all within 24 hours. I tried a variety of hot pepper products without success until I found these. The squirrels and raccoons don't like it. The birds can't taste the hot pepper. By hanging them facing the ground I've been able to thwart the blue jays and grackles as well. The woodpeckers and other clinging birds can enjoy it for days. My only complaint is that they make a mess dropping little bits of suet as they eat. Luckily other birds clean up most of it. Note: This is just suet. No nuts, seeds or berries.

Our birds LOVE C&S Hot Pepper suet! And they're picky! They will turn up their bills at inferior suet cakes. The squirrels really are not interested in it. We live in the wooded East Bay hills in Northern California and the birds that love it the most are chickadees, juncos, nuthatches, titmice, finches, sparrows and occasionally Downy woodpeckers. Also Scrub jays and Steller's jays, but fortunately mostly it's the little guys that are all over this suet, literally. They like to stand on the cakes as they peck at it. We have three suet feeders and we have to refill them about every three days in the back yard and once a week in the front yard.The cakes are very sturdy, and in our climate we've never had it melt (even in over 100 degree weather) nor crumble when being pecked at. It really keeps it's shape down to the last little bit. It is also not messy to handle while placing in the feeders, and the plastic tray is recyclableIt's cheaper at Home Depot, but more often than not it's out of stock there. It's about the same price as our local Ace Hardware, but when we really need it and don't have time to go to the store, a 12-pack of this suet delivered is very nice.
