Item appreciated and rare.
I was pleased with this particular item. But I ordered 2 more of these and the packaging of the one set was damaged, such that I would not be able to give as a gift in the package.

Adorable!
Update 2020:My kids are now 9 and 11 and have decided they prefer to use the adult sized utensils, but I still use the child sized Moda utensils everyday, haha! The child size are perfect for eating desserts from small bowls and plates, and the little knives are useful as spreaders (butter, condiments in small bowls, etc). The small size gets rid of that annoying experience of the longer utensils falling out of, or accidentally being knocked out of a bowl or knocked off of a plate that is too small for the utensil’s length, knocking food or condiments onto the table or floor. After three years of use, the utensils still look great. I wash them in our dishwasher using various ‘eco friendly’ detergents, but have avoided any with citrus oils to prevent discoloration (this might have been a warning that came with the utensils). So go ahead and get the child sizes - definitely useful once kids are grown (at least for me).Original 2017 Review: I bought three different types of Oneida child flatware: Child Moda to match my own Moda flatware set (and replace our disintegrating Gerber Graduates), Child/Baby Chateau to match my mother’s Chateau flatware set to use when grandchildren visit, and Little Love Child/Baby as a baby gift for a sibling. I am thrilled! The pieces are beautiful, high quality and adorable when compared to the adult versions. Between the three types I purchased, the Moda is heaviest with Little Love a close second. The Chateau set is lighter and the daintiest - truly adorable (and the lighter weight should not be taken to mean it is lower in quality, just a more delicate design). The baby Chateau fork is to die for 😍. Super tiny. I highly recommend any of these sets. My kids are 6 and 8 and my motivation for purchasing the Moda Child was to give my kids useful knives - the adult size knives are really difficult for them to use, and I want them to be cutting up foods (like pancakes) for themselves. I plan on using the Child size spoons myself when eating ice cream out of small bowls 😄.

A perfect size for growing little ones
I bought these for our 3 yr old Granddaughter. They are lighter weight than another set we have (also Oneida) and just slightly smaller, the points of the fork tines are sharper also. We originally thought that this would be an issue but it turns out it's a blessing. We purchased Little Love by Oneida and also the Chateau by Oneida, comparing them the Chateau is slightly smaller, and lighter weight, the tines on the fork are also sharper allowing you to cleanly pick up any food. The Little Love set is heavier weight but not overly so, it has a chunkier feel to it (which also makes it feel indestructible) the tines of the fork are sharper than the beginner feeding sets but still has trouble picking up some foods without smashing them vs spearing them. Our Granddaughter loves the design on Little Love (cut out heart at bottom of cutlery) although she did get her finger stuck in one of the pieces. The weight and chunkier design of Little Love makes for easier grip. The sharpness of the Chateau fork is perfect for her to easily pick up all foods. In a perfect world finding a set that is weighted like Little Love but made with sharper fork tines like Chateau would be awesome... I even love the little heart on Little Love but I suggest a heart stamp not cut out because of fingers getting stuck.Hope this helps others make their own choice. Oneida is a timeless cutlery, made of stainless so it will last forever, it costs a little more but is so much better than the plastic cutlery out there for children.

Age appropriate and worth it!
The pictures are next to our adult Oneida Louisiana flatware for size reference. My kids never preferred baby silverware but they struggle with our adult size silverware, especially the butter knives. My 3 year old loves to cut his own food and use his independence with eating and this set allows him to do so! They’re light weight, small but definitely ideal for ages 2-8 I would say. Past 8 I would expect my children will want to use regular sized silverware. I think these are precious pieces that can be passed to my kids when they have their own kids, just as my family has passed down other Oneida sets of silverware. I bought them “used”, not in the gift box, for $14.99 a set which seems expensive when buying a few sets but if you’ve owned Oneida you know they will last a lifetime plus some so it’s worth it in my opinion!

Quality set
This little set is really kind of adorable. My elderly mother-in-law kept asking for smaller, lighter utensils, saying the regular flatware was too heavy for her now, so I decided to order a children's set and try that. And I really didn't want to get her anything that was plastic or looked like it was for children. I was happy to find this set and we are pleased with the quality and look of it. She is happy with the weight and feel of the utensils.
