Stonehenge Model Kit

The Stonehenge kit I feel is one of the most interesting I have seen. Not only do you get real stones to build it with, you also get the grass scatter to complete the scene as well. It is unusual these days to get not only the kit components but also the scatter and even glue. For the beginner, the kit has everything you need. For the more advanced model builder, you can go to town on detailing the stones, as some of the stones do need a little work, such as a sight trim and painting, which is what modellers do anyway, the finished result will I hope be spectacular.

The people at Aedes-Ars did their research and came up with a wonderful product. The ceramic pieces look good and after roughing them up with a chisel they looked great. The direction sheet all in pictures was easy to follow and the "Here is an idea" picture, with measurements included, to expand the layout so you could place the Slaughter stone, Heel stone and Station stones was just what I wanted. The Kit included extra stones for just that purpose. In fact mine set contained 136 pieces so I could add additional things to my diaroma. A great Kit and the more time spent on it the better it will be.

I bought this kit for my kids and I to do. We are homeschoolers and were doing a unit study on the UK. There are a number of Stonehenge kits out there, but I selected this one for the price and the quality of the kit. The store owner was great and contacted me a while after the purchase to ensure everything was satisfactory. I would absolutely do business here again and would highly recommend this Stonehenge kit.

Good model and easy directions to put it together. Only downside is applying the grass evenly after the model is built. I suppose one could be careful and apply the grass first.

This is an excellent model of Stonehenge. BUT, it is a very complicated kit. I would recommend this item to only those who have a great deal of experience building highly detailed models. If you are up to the challenge , this is a great kit, it contains everything you will need to build a first rate replica of this famous landmark.

My high schooler had to complete a Stonehenge project for her Astronomy class. I found this kit which was much better than anything we would have tried to build on our own. It was a fun and easy project for her to do on her own. It is a sturdy model and the pieces glued to the base easily. She learned a lot about ancient time.

This kit is so cool. I used to build model railroad (HO gage) displays. Skills learned then came in handy. The "stones" are an easily carved, extruded material (sharp edges). Variegated grey color, like wood grain. Nicely executed. Since no one knows what the original monument pieces looked like (today, most are missing), why not carve some pieces into "Coke" bottle shapes or the "Leg Lamp" from "A Christmas Story" (USA TV show, 1983, look it up.) It's YOUR kit! Go nuts.

Very easy to assemble. Looks great when it is all done. My 10 year old son loved putting it together. It was for a school project. My son was so proud to bring it into school and present it. His teacher said the model was “fantastic”!

Ya es la segunda vez que me pasa con este tipò de construcciones, la primera vez fue con el fabricante Domus Kit y la iglesia de Santa María del Naranco: las piedras de construcción están hechas en realidad de yeso o arcilla, por lo que se parten en general, sobretodo durante el transporte si alguna de las bolsas más pesadas está suelta, se mueve y rompe a las demás. Además las piedras están contadas y viene el número justo, por lo que si te equivocas no tienes recambio o tienes que pedirlo al fabricante que o no te hace caso, o te quiere cobrar el repuesto muy caro.Las instrucciones no siempre son claras. En este caso hay que tallar las piedras con una cuchilla para darle aspecto agrietado y antiguo. Por supuesto el color no coincide para nada con el de las fotos de la web en donde parecen piedras negras, y en realidad son gris muy claro.Si colocas todas las piedras, luego te será difícil colocar la hierba, y si pones primero la hierba te tapas muchas de las instrucciones del tablero.En fin cosas como esta hicieron que me pasara al modelismo de madera en donde yo elijo tipos de madera, tamaños, cortes, etc...

This has to be the best subject that I have ever modeled in 50 years of modelling experience and the end result is truly breathtaking. Construction is straightforward and fairly easy and the instruction sheet is easy to follow. Although the technique of modelling each stone becomes a bit repetitive, the final product is well worth the effort and the inclusion of the 'grass' and 'chalk' material with which to decorate the assembled model is a touch of brilliance when the end product is seen. The finished item is not too big and not too small and makes a really eye-catching object that is easy to display. This kit is a fine manner in which to display a classic piece of British history! In short, I have no real criticism of this model and consider it to be well worth the money I paid for it!
