ART ADVANTAGE 2250-23 23-Inch by 26-Inch Artist Sketch Board

The 18 x 18 size of this board makes it perfect for 11 x 17 work. The handle remains accessible and usable with a stack of 11 x 17 sheets clipped on the board. Note that the image shown on the product is some other dimension board and not the 18 x 18. This board is an exact square. The rubber band is nice and thick with the right amount of tackiness to keep the bottom of the sheets in place. The board material itself is nice and smooth - both front and back, so it's not abrasive on your hands or legs holding it for long periods. Some might consider the material a little thin, but it is plenty rigid and I appreciate the light weight when carrying it around or propping it up while drawing. The only thing I would change might be the clip. There is a single, large clip at the top. I'd prefer two smaller clips to provide a little more secure grip on the paper and preventing any pivoting of the paper.

I was so happy with this when it arrived. It is a tempered masonite which is thin, smooth and lightweight without being flimsy. The handle is super handy and the two clips and band just make any project easy to keep under control. I use it as a lap desk as well. Writing correspondence or paying bills - you can keep your notes, bills and envelopes clipped on one spot and stamps, checks, etc.. on another side. The band keeps things from rolling off a bit - or easy to catch if they start to roll. It's tight enough that something as thin as a single piece of paper up to a pencil is held tight. The clamps are nice and heavy duty and the two hold larger sheets of paper. It's very versatile and much lighter than I thought while still being just a perfect weight for work on a desk, lap or easel. Price is VERY good.

As an artist that doesn't just like to be stuck at my drafting table or easel, I've always been a fan of art boards- I chose this style w the band as most of us that draw know, the paper slips up if not secured. The band IS removable which is also a plus. The clamps work great and are durable. As with most art boards, it's a lightweight, cheaper wood material- my only discrepancy with this is that it was chipped in the bottom corner upon receiving - not a huge chip but it is very easy to ding if you're not careful. It's convenient for those moments I want to sketch outdoors or even in front of my tv while watching a movie. The only reason I gave 4 stars is the board material could be a bit heavier and more durable however, for the price it will do just fine for what I need it for. If you choose to use this as a board to paint with, I would not use without putting a protective lining under the paper as moisture WILL warp the board- I def recommend it over others due to it having the double clamps and the removable band(which also keeps your paper in place while you're on the go) If far distance traveling, I would suggest using a padded portfolio to place it in to avoid damage. Overall- I dig the product and would recommend for the antsy artist. Xx

The clips are so awesome, best you can get. It's not too big or bulky, and the band is so tight! Also the sticker came off with ease which I appreciate.

This board it extremely sturdy and smooth. I had some shipping issues and the seller got right back to me and kept me updated. The corners were a little damaged from shipping and the seller was willing to send a replacement but I just decided to put some tape on the corners and make it mine. Between the overall quality of the product and the customer service, it definitely earned 5 stars! I would not hesitate to order another or recommend to anyone.I have searched for a while in art supply stores/warehouses and I was not satisfied with any options due to the flimsy and gritty feeling (which us artists know we cannot use because it’s going to muck up anything we draw). This board is a more than a generous size and light enough to take anywhere.

I use to tape my paper to a large wood board in high school and I loved it. But I needed an adult version of that. I recently got into paint by numbers but I was creasing the canvas. This is perfect to hold my painting during and in-between painting. I love all the features it offers. My favorite is the handle though.

Nice boards, not to heavy but still strong. A little problem with one of the grommets being missing but fixed that problem with a drop of gorilla glue.Got two of them and they came in good time and in good shape. At $14 each a very fair price. Think of this as more of a high school art or a make stuff at home art supply item and not a professional, sell my art work for hundreds of dollars supply item.

I bought this 13" x 17" board for my art class. It's a nice size for small projects and with the built in handle, I can take it with me everywhere. The board is strong fibre board which hopefully, will not break if dropped. I lined the back with sticky cork board squares so it would not damage my desk or other surfaces that I will use it on. My biggest complaint about the board is that the clip on the top gets in the way of using my board in different directions. If the clip could be made removable or a board was made without the clip, I would buy that version.

This is a well-made drawing board, just the right size for my needs. The surface is smooth and the board is relatively light weight. The built-in carrying handle and the bulldog clip for holding paper are a nice touch (it also comes with a large rubber band if one prefers not to use the clip). I don't think you can wrong with this product, especially considering the very reasonable price. Highly recommended.
