A must read!
I stumbled across this book following a recommendation on BookTok and I have to say I wasn’t disappointed! We follow the story of Elara. As Asterian princess who is forced to flee her home and seek safety in the enemy. Here we meet Enzo, who is not well known for his compassion or empathy.Imani paints a fascinating picture into the world of the Stars and their followers. The plot is full of twists, turns and oh so much angst. There are some amazing side characters who really do bring a whole side story to the book. It made me laugh, it made me want to cry, so many different emotions! If you are into romantasy, with slow burn and swoon worthy enemies to lovers then this is definitely a book for you!

Amazing!!!!!
I’ve been following this author on TikTok since she started writing this book. I just want to say she put so much love and life in this book. It was totally worth the wait. I reread this book 6 times and I cannot get over it. The world and characters are so amazing. I cannot recommend this book enough! She did an amazing job. I’m so in love with the world and the characters. It’s a book you won’t be able to put down. The romance is to die for and emotional touches she wrote is the best. I’m so excited for the story to continue. Definitely give this book a shot!!!! <3

It's not bad but I would not recommend
This book got a lot of hype and as a big fan for fantasy YA I was more than eager for something new.The first chapter is very-well written with deep descriptors and a slow introductory exposition without feeling like info-dumping. I was hooked. I think this author has great potential and this story and idea has the foundation to become something exceptional. Unfortunately, after that, everything changed.I am sorry to say I did not finish this book. The book focuses way too much on appearances. The colors of the sky, the ground, the architecture and the people themselves was too much. At least 2-3 paragraphs per chapter about the specific color and style the MC's are wearing for certain events. While I like imagery, I did not care for the time that was wasted on superfluous descriptions as opposed to character building, world building, and a decent plot. If I had to read one more sentence about "chestnut/honey/ebony hair" or "golden/tanned/brown skin" I was going to lose my mind.I've read my fair share of fan fiction and I do truly enjoy it, and often. This book is every single fanfic "enemies to lovers", "taking care of one another", "jealousy", "pining" trope that this author could possibly cram in per chapter. There was even a whole chapter where the male MC took care of the female MC while she was on her period. I am a sucker for most of these tropes. But again, these small scenarios were the focus of the book in favor of actually providing a cohesive storyline and plot. The author could not seem to decide exactly how "fantasy" this book was supposed to be. The dialogue swam between sounding almost Shakespearean to something I would feel I would hear walking the halls of a high school. The spellings were changed "Magick" and "Dragun" for a few examples, I believe in an effort to make this world seem unique, but it is not the same as creating something new. There were several beautiful, unique, names for flowers, and then in the same chapter a "heating pad" was referenced. The overuse of modern-day cursing also pulled from the world that was being created. In addition, several phrases and words were utilized multiple times. "he drawled" "her core" "he/she smirked" It felt very sloppy. The plot was somewhat all over the place. The female MC (while badass) spends the first few chapters or so developing her "Magick", something that is explained to be something she struggles with very deeply and cannot control. By the 8th or so chapter she has quite literally has mastered each of the things she was struggling with after training or practicing once. It felt very unrealistic in terms of storyline. Even though the romance is the center of this story the progression of their relationship feels rushed and a bit like an over-exaggerated tug-of-war.Overall, this book, while not bad, reads like a fan fiction where each chapter focuses on a different trope in order to please the audience and try to bring in as many people as possible. The author does have talent and it has the potential to be great, unfortunately it is not there for me.

Please don't do it. Please.
Well, unless you like poor Wattpad quality writing in actual book form. Who is rating it so highly? Have you ever actually read a book before? So much repetition of adjectives, a Mary-Sue main character who literally could have been created by a child, a very bad example of enemies/rivals to lovers, juvenile dialogue and so many boring training scenes that just had to be skipped. I was actually shocked at how bad this was.

New Top 5 Favorite Read of 2023 !!!!!
I AM OBSESSED WITH THIS BOOK!!!! It was INCREDIBLE and blew away all of my expectations! The enemies-to-lovers trope had me feral, the SPICE was impeccable, and I saw NONE of the twists coming! I was deeply and emotionally invested throughout the entirety of this story and even cried! The enemies to lovers trope was written flawlessly. I totally interpreted Enzo as a preening, cold playboy at first introductions, but over time he evolved into my favorite character. The way he deeply cares for and defends his people is so heartwarming to see in a MMC, and the passion and intensity he felt toward Elara throughout their relationship had me SWOONING. Major touch her a d*e vibes. Elara had her own character development, but honestly every time the two interacted I was always much more concerned about Enzo. I felt like she fell victim to the "helpless girl hones her extraordinary powers" trope, which I'm a bit tired by. Overall, I really liked her as an FMC because I appreciated her committment to her friends and kingdom. I feel like I related to her boundaries regarding the prophecy because I feel like I would have done the same– "fate said this so I do this," type of thing. They're one of my new favorite book couples and I just cannot stop thinking about Enzo!!!! Morally grey and overprotective– shut up and take my money !!As for the spice?! The SPICE in this book was written expertly! The way the characters got a little farther at each encounter, the readers got more and more detail... I was simply unwell. I even shed a tear at one point?? I thought Enzo and Elara's emotional connection was well established before anything got heated and he courted her like a "proper gentleman"... again, absolutely swoon-worthy.THE PLOT TWISTS IN THIS BOOK MADE ME CRY. Some major twists and turns revealed things were not as they seem, while others revealed some major truths. I ABSOLUTELY did not see one of the biggest plot twists coming and "fell for it" so to speak. I was crying. I was gasping. I was angry. I has to stop reading. The last 40% of the book is such an emotional, suspenseful rollercoaster that I never wanted to end!!This book is a new favorite and one I'll be recommending for a very, very long time. It marked all of my tropes off and honestly, I felt like this is what "The Stars Are Dying" was trying to accomplish but couldn't. It was flawless, it was spicy, it was everything I want in a fantasy book. I'm already sad that it's over, but I'm onto book 2 immediately!!

Incredible
I have been trying to get back in the groove of reading and I've been through 5 diferent books that simply didn't work for me so I put them down, this book has hooked me from the first lines, I've been reading it for 2 days and I'm already at the last chapters. Honestly, incredible work. Can't wait to see more of the characters in future works

Took me through the spectrum of human emontion and farther.
This book took my soul, shattered it, and helped me out the pieces back together. I saw the authors tik tok about the novel a few months ago and put the release date in my calender, buying it the moment it came out. I have too many words and am simultaneously speechless having just finished it. This book has everything; a delicious enemies to lovers, beautifully fleshed out world, fantastic pacing and imagery, gracefully woven smut, and overall the best book I've ever read in my entire life. And I read a lot of books. A lot. The author made the clever choice of recycling Greek myths and astrology into a world that's familiar without the three chapter info dump you find with a lot of fantasy books, but still keeps hooked for more. So different than how any Greek mythology fan will see a lot of plot points coming in PJO. It caught me by surprise, left me on my knees with tears in my eyes begging the author for more. I never expected such PASSION and life from a book that came up on my fyp, I'm so happy I was wrong. My very being was touched by this novel and it was only NINE DOLLARS?? Immersive, clever, and incredibly entertaining. I came for the tension, stayed for the story that has pushed every other book down a peg on my favourites list. The most intense love story I've ever read. And I only read romance. My friends, family, and co-workers will not stop hearing about this book anytime soon. I will gift this book, recommend this book, and rebuy it when the cover has "best seller" displayed on the cover. Can't wait for the spine of my physical copy to be all wrinkled and the margins to be scribbled in. Imani, you are an artist!! I am so excited to buy all of your future works.

A deux doigts du coup de coeur ultime
⭐⭐⭐⭐,5"Because Elara, I may be a monster, but you make me want to be a saint"personnage: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐Intrigue: ⭐⭐⭐spice: 🌶🌶🌶Humour/répartie : ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐Emotions: ⭐⭐⭐Plume: ⭐⭐⭐⭐Construction du monde: ⭐⭐⭐🥀ennemis to lovers🥀slow burn🥀héroine badass🥀"I would burn the world for you"🥀"He falls first and harder"🥀interactions hilarantes, et répartie incroyable🥀found family" 'You know who the most dangerous kind of villain is? You overestimate my compassion, Elara, and underestimate how deeply mine you are. I would let the whole world burn if it kept you warm"La plume de l'autrice est agréable à suivre et fluide.
