No, this is a handheld bottle opener only.

I wouldn't boil anything that was not designed for the task. This appears to have some sort of paint on it to make it seem weathered. You probably don't want that in your food. My recommendation is to either use a cast iron pan for your cooking, or to buy the fish instead. Use this only as a bottle opener.

It certainly appears so, it has some weight for a bottle opener; it was a gift for my ex, so I can't look at it, right now, but he loves it& was surprised at how heavy & durable it is
