Honestly I never realized the benefits of using a special shampoo for black dogs but after one bath I saw why. My dog's coat was no longer dull. Her coat shined and was so smooth. It reduced her shedding significantly and she smelled great. I will never go back to any other shampoo for her.

Why did you pick this product vs others?: I buy this for my black standard poodle. The ingredients seem good and they leave her coat looking deep black and shiny. The scent is not overpowering.

I haven’t tried out other products similar to this one so that’s why I gave it a four star because I couldn’t really compare it, but it has a nice subtle fragrance, hair comes out shiny, healthier looking. I didn’t have to dilute it because it wasn’t that concentrated. I purchased the small bottle for my 10 lb puppy. I normally bathe my dog once a week so this bottle’s going to go quick. In the future I would probably get the big bottle.

Definitely noticed a big difference in my dogs black coats when I used this shampoo. I did let it sit on them for 5 minutes before rinsing. I have an all black German shepherd and a German Rottweiler so they both get this shampoo. As you can see their coats are SHINY!!! Lathers very well, and smells GREAT! The girls don’t have any skin irritation with this shampoo either. This is for BLACK dogs! Don’t use it on your white dog or it’ll turn grey! It’s like a color shampoo, but for dogs!

I used this on my black Labrador. The difference was immediate. He's normally shiny but he was even shiner after. I also used it on my black and white pittie mix. He's normally not shiny. This made his coat gleam.

5 stars from me. Very nice lather, good smell. And leaves my giant’s fur feeling very good.

Cleans the hair nicely, leaves it soft and manageable. Super shiny. Smell is very strong musky perfume. As far as the correcting the black color, My black Chinese crested still has very obvious red undertones after using 3 times a week for the last 2 months. Followed the instructions, 2 shampoos letting it set in the hair for 5-7 mins each time. One wash with Chris Christensen black on black did what this shampoo could not with 30+ washes. As a shampoo it’s pretty decent (minus the heavy aggressive scent) but as a color corrector it does not deliver.

Used on my black standard Schnauzer. Best shampoo I found for her. She is shiny, soft, and the wonderful smell has lasted for days so far.

Bit on the expensive side..but its a great shampoo for dogs.. have been using this regularly for the past one year for our doberman pup - and the shampoo cleans well, makes his coat lustrous. It has an artificial black coloring i suppose - but it has not harmed my dogs coat/skin.. For healthy coat, nothing beats proper brushing every day - I use the kong zoom groom brush for that. We give him bath every fortnight..

Didn’t like how product felt on the pups hair, kind of heavy and toughening. The hair didn’t look any better later and felt dull. Did I use it incorrectly? Not a top performer.
