Excellent quality fryer
This is a large, excellent quality deep fryer. I was having trouble getting a fryer that would fully heat to 375, but this fryer has no trouble heating to 375 and slightly higher. The higher temperature does a better job getting food crispy instead of soggy. This fryer has a large capacity, but it doesn’t take up much more space than the regular home fryers. The fryer cleans easily in the dishwasher. I wish that it had a cover to keep the grease from splattering when frying, but the cover doesn’t fit over the fry basket.

220 or what others 208v etc.. this is the unit to get
220 all the way the 120 can not hold the heat to cook the food right we did the temp test and what a difference 100%. we can know cook ice cream deserts and they come nice.DO NOT BUY THE 120 volt unit it works but very poorly for true cooking and temperature control there is just not enough volts of power in the 120 to keep the temp up.yes some yes it is small but this is just the right size for the home family cooking or small jobs.replacing the oil is cheaper because this unit does not use so much.we like this unit and it works great to cook all foods at restaurant quilting heat cooking etc... Keeping the heat ((frozen food really shows the difference))

A Professional Restaurant at Home!!!
This is simply an amazing deep fryer!! Heats up fast and cooks FAST! Ever wonder how some restaurants get your fried food to the table so quickly? You'll understand after your first use of the Waring PRO. Very crisp!!! And not as oily or greasy as typical home use deep fryers. It's completely true what you read about the perfect temperature for the oil. It must get very hot to properly cook your foods. And while no deep fried food is truly "healthy" for you, this fryer does make it "healthier" by not absorbing as much grease into the foods you fry. Any typical (even picky) person will not be disappointed with this purchase. Just don't use canola oil unless you want to smell up your home. A good quality vegetable oil is much better in both consistency and taste, not to mention there's hardly any "after smell." I would most definitely recommend this product and would purchase again myself! Happy home deep frying!

Big improvement over the similar, home-use design
I had a similar Waring home-use unit previously. The absolutely silly 2-foot cord and magnetic easily-detached plug into the unit were a joke. Really, if you pulled this off the counter and dumped 375-degree oil over the kitchen, do you think your biggest concern would be whether it was still plugged into an electric outlet? This (commercial) unit uses the same pull-apart design (holder, controls-plus-heater-coil unit, hot-oil tub) that's easier to clean than the one-piece Fry-Daddy-style hot oil units. It has a nice, thick power cord that 's MORE than 2 feet long and doesn't have a ridiculous magnetic fastener. Although home dishwashers have a limited capacity and you won't be able to wash the tub and holder together, they're still relatively easy for cleanup. It has a slightly bigger capacity than the home-owner version so you can load more product into the fry basket. On the down side, like some other evaluators, I found that the actual oil temperature was a little lower than the temperature-control setting, even after it signaled 'Ready'. The other item to mention is the lid is designed to be removed when you're frying. I'm guessing that's S.O.P. in commercial environments, but it would be nice to be able to cover up the unit while it's frying , with maybe a filtered outlet for the steam. I should also mention that, despite its shortcomings, our old home-use unit worked faithfully for years, and is now living at my daughter's house. I expect this commercial unit will be equally reliable. This comes with one large fry basket and 2 small ones that will fit side-by-side. I haven't yet found a use for the side-by-side baskets, but they look cute.

Jury still out. After update jury is no longer out but this fryer is.
Got this last week to replace a 2 year old pos from HSN. Thought I had finally made the right purchase when it arrived. Unit was extremely well packed and materials of the highest quality, the kind you won't find in any regular consumer unit. But that's where the good ends. The bad--even though the temp is supposed to reach 390, mine only got to 359! A full 16* lower than that pos I had from HSN that died suddenly at a young age. You read that correctly, while set at 390* the actual temp was only 359* and my French fries turned out soft and got soggy after a few minutes on the plate. I'll try the probe adjustment another reviewer suggested and see if that helps and post a follow-up review but for this kind of money this is something that no one should have to do. A suggestion to Waring--at least have your commercial product made here in the U.S., it's insulting to American consumers (whether at home or in a business setting) to get stuck with products made overseas for the same price they used to be made here and try and tell us it's the same product when it obviously is not.April 30,2015 Update--Returned. After making the probe adjustment, the unit heated all the way up to 368* while set on 390! On top of that, after dropping in a small handful of fries the temp dropped to 227* and took almost 10 minutes to get back up to 352* which is when I couldn't take it anymore and just dropped the fries back in and the outcome was the worst bunch of fries I've ever made at home using any deep fryer. I simply cannot see how any business could use unit this bad and whomever thought that putting a temp probe flush against a heating element was a good idea out to be fired.

Not made in USA
I will do a follow up review. I just got this fryer and was extremely disappointed that it was made in China. It clearly says it’s made in USA. For this price it should be.
