Easy to use
This hair color was easy to use. I bought the dark blonde color and added gray magic which helps my hair retain the color, since I have very fine hair. The color came out much darker. I thought it would lighten after a week or so. However, the color didn't lighten at all, until I was ready to color my roots, 5 weeks later! I have not had problems with using Gray Magic in hair color before, so have to believe it was Schwarzkopf, as other reviewers have stated. Next time I will go down a shade and see if I can get dark blonde.

One of the better box dyes I’ve tried
I really like this product. Wary of other reviews stating it was darker than shown, I purchased the medium blonde to put lowlights in, but found it true to color so it was a subtle difference with my color (yellow/gold from the summer weather) ordering the dark blonde for my next attempt. Plus side, no damage. I have thin long hair, natural sandy blonde, and it really didn’t dry it out or kill my ends. Compared to other ‘box dyes’ the color was not caustic! Very mild compared to other popular brands. Remember to consult the color wheel-people left reviews about unexpected tinting and coloring, really depends what you’ve put in your hair already!

Changed blonde hair to a honey/amber light brown
I had light blond dyed highlights throughout long blonde hair with dirty blonde roots. I've colored my hair for years and years, last few years was professional blonde highlights. I applied to roots for 20 min, worked through the ends over 5 min, left it on for another 10. Total processing time was 40 min with application time per the instructions. My whole head of hair turned very honey-light brown. This dye colored my blonde hair much darker. Another lady's review (she has kind of short hair) showed pictures of this happening to her, I thought perhaps there was a user error or just an odd reaction to her natural color. Same thing happened to mine, take a look at her pics. I would stay away from this product if you want actual blonde hair. Definitely not "Light Blonde."

I love the color... But
I love the color it's the perfect shade for me. When you dye your own hair you have to go with a lighter shade so it's the color you want. I use a dark blonde to achieve a medium brown shade With that being said I rinse my hair in cool water use the conditioner I don't wash it for at least 48 hrs if not 72 hrs. The color doesn't stay as long as it should. I have to dye it more often. I do have some gray at the roots and it's coming back to quickly. So do I recommend it not really. I've used other brands where that doesn't happen. I have used it multiple times I have the same result every time I have used it. Will I keep using it... probably not

I hope they never stop making this
The stuff is great it does the coloring that I want. I'm very white haired on the front and a little darker on the back so what I do is I put it on the front where the white is for a half an hour and then I finish it through the back for about 15 minutes. I'm using the blonde over gray because I am a blonde with gray hair. Even the younger girls that I know come up to being say wow your hair looks so cool is it natural? Because they know it's not but it looks so natural they can't help but ask. I feel like this doesn't have a lot of nasty stuff in it like some of the other stuff has. And I don't have to do it like every 4 to 6 weeks for some reason it just Blends in so well that I can literally go a couple of months actually the last time I went 4 months before I felt like I needed to redo it. I hope this company never stops making this product it's the best I've ever used.

Worth a try if you are allergic to other colors
Ok... I did my research.. .and lots of it. I am allergic to hair color. As I got older, the more sensitive the back of my neck became. The last time I went to my hairdresser for a color, I was sick for 2 weeks! Never again!! So I did my research. Many people have reviewed this hair color that have allergies. Some reviews were better than others. I have hair past my shoulders... so I purchased two boxes just to be safe that I would have enough. One bottle ended up being enough. First thing I learned from other reviews, this goes on darker than expected! I have chestnut brown hair... I purchased the Medium Blonde, it ended up being the exact color of my hair. The instructions are pretty simple. It said to keep on hair 30 minutes. With that said, I have gray roots, and I hate them. Those pesky grays are about 3 inches long because I have PTSD from my hairdresser almost putting me in the hospital. When the color was in my hair, the top of my head tingled... that was the extent of any reaction I had. My eczema on the back of my neck and hair line did not flare at all.... so for any of you with those allergies... this is for sure a color to try. I kept it in 30 minutes like I said and they give a conditioner to put in after you rinse it out. The bad news is I have washed my hair twice since coloring and the grays on top are back already :( In other reviews I noticed that people say it does not last long, like 8 washes... so I was hoping to make it that long. Being this color gave me no reaction... I am giving it another try in about a month. This time I may keep on my top roots longer to see if that works..... I may try to buy a shade darker as well. It's worth a try for those who have allergies or just don't want those horrible chemicals soaking in your brain. Update 2/2025 I keep the color on my grays longer, about 45-50 mins and it lasts longer!! very mild on the scalp!

So much better than expected
The first time I used this brand, I was not happy because it was much darker than a 6 or 7 that I’d use. This is because it doesn’t lift or lighten but it covers grays so well and doesn’t damage my hair even a little. I have chestnut brown hair and use a 7 or 7.5 Try it!

Great product, wrong color
Love this hair color, but the color was not light blonde. Dark ash blonde is what I ended up with after putting it in my hair. But this particular brand and type of color is top notch. No odor whatsoever, very gentle on hair.

Unfortunately this product did not meet my expectations. It says it is permanent colour and will not wash out easily but it washes out pretty quickly compared to other dyes out there. The colour as well was not what I was hoping for. It turned out more brassy, even though I used a anti brass shampoo after. Will not be buying this product again.

I have been colouring my hair for over 35 years and by far this is the best product I’ve used. The colour is consistent and lasts good six weeks. Very pleased.
