Outstanding performing gooseneck electric kettle.
Kettle and base pad are well made. Kettle offers a comfortable consistent pour at slow up to moderately fast flow rates. Base pad has an easy to see and keep clean panel with a flat digital touchscreen. This is used to easily control temperature (Celsius or F-temp), on off, and there’s a timer if you’re into that kind of thing. A feature I really enjoy is that this kettle remembers the last temperature set after being turned off. No need to reset the temperature upon turning it on. It did take me a few times to realize that turning the kettle on is a simple quick touch of the on/off pad. Because holding your finger on the pad for 3-4 seconds only turns the kettle off. If it’s already off holding your finger on the pad lfor onger than a moment only serves to get a beep and have it still be off. One must place one's finger on the on/off pad only briefly to turn it on. You get a beep here also, and you will see a nice red led light at the base of the kettle begin to pulse like a digital fire to let you know the heating has begun. It does a very nice job of “pouring the electric coals" to heating the water then as it approaches your set temperature it eases up on th throttle and comes to the desired temperature without overshooting the desired temperature. Very nice. The lid fits nicely in it’s place without falling out during pouring. There are three small holes in the top of the kettle to assist in airflow for consistent pouring flow. I can’t tell if the kettle is double walled but the interior appears to be stainless steel. I find the electronic beeps the base pad produces are not the irritating type often found on devices. It lets you know it’s done its job with a friendly beep versus rather than nagging at you like a screeching harpy. And lastly….the packaging. Good heavens. I’m usually not one to pay attention to packaging. However the impression of opening this box is next level regal. This is the kind of box that your children will hand to their grandchildren saying “Kneel and receive your great grandparent’s kettle of royal packaging splendor. They wanted you to have this kettle even though we no longer use electricity. Huzzah!” This is my first electric gooseneck kettle. I highly recommend this one.

DID NOT WORK
I was really looking forward to getting this pour-over kettle. It arrived in good shape, the packaging is slick, well-designed, and secures the product well...a bit too well because it was tough to remove the kettle from the foam insert. That would have been fine IF the product had worked. It did not. I could power it up. It pulsed and heated the water, a little bit. I could get it to rise a degree or two. I kept checking the time. I tried a number of times to get it going. It would rise the temp a few degrees, then the temp would go DOWN! It was taking far too long to boil---and this was only with half a pot of water (the first boil to clean out any debris from manufacturing). I restarted the kettle. I re-read the manual a few times. I blamed myself. I tried different outlets. I couldn't get the temp of the water over 113°F and it was set to 212°F. I gave it an hour and it never boiled the water. Though this kettle is heavy, classy looking, and well-packaged, it doesn't work, so it's basically garbage. I was going to contact the company about this, but I read other reviews that said they don't even answer the phone, so I'm not going to waste any more of my time. This is going back for a refund. I hope I find another product that actually works. :-(

Almost Perfect (amazing value at it's price point)
I purchased a used/returned Saki Baristan for $96 (normally $110) for my pour over coffee setup in my kitchen and planned to use it at least twice a day. I had a laundry list of "must have's" which is why my budget was $100-165. Price wise, I was REALLY excited about this kettle because it as at by bottom of my budget. My must haves were: - Fast boiling - Matte black - Overall a simple and attractive looking kettle, the more basic looking the better. Subjective I know but my wife would not allow just anything looking kettle left always out on the kitchen counter. - No loud logo's or company names on the base or on the kettle itself - Gooseneck spout (a must have for pour over) to produce a steady stream of water, specially at slower pour rates - Ability to set an exact temp. for different styles of coffee roasts - An auto shut off function for when there isn't water left in the kettle & accidently left on heating mode - A capacity .8 L or more (aka more than enough for a pour over coffee recipe requiring 500 ml) - Doesn't leak when pouring with the water at max fill level - High build quality and a design that doesnt let the water touch anything plastic while heating or pouring - Comfortable/ergonomic handle while pouring, sometimes up to 2-3 minutes at a time - Bonus Points (highly unlikely but would love to have's) - the ability to schedule the kettle to turn on at a set time, able to turn it on remotely via Wi-Fi/Bluetooth, ability to turn on and start heating via a smart plug. (I knew this kettle would not have these up front, which is fine at this price point!) This kettle hit all those must have's but fell short in ergonomics/comfort while pouring. When holding the kettle with your thumb on top pointing toward the kettle & the spout facing away from you, it is comfortable and the weight dispersion is excellent. For me though, I like to hold the kettle with my right hand and have the spout pointing inward (left) while doing my pour over and my thumb on top of the handle. The top of the handle is slightly concave and just isn't as comfortable while holding it that direction. FYI - The grip did feel very nice and high quality. For the price, this is a great kettle and hit my laundry list other than the 1 knock above. Bonus points to Saki for answering a question I sent them regarding the kettle and it was answered within 24 hours in a kind, helpful, and accurate message. If I am going to spend this much on a kettle though, I do want it to be perfect and it fell just a tad short.

Easy to use and good quality
I’m reviewing on the buyer’s account, because I got this as a gift. This kettle has a nice matte finish and good weight when pouring water. A lot of control in the flow of pouring water and I really like the customization of temperature control, keep warm option, and the overall design of the base. However one criticism I have is that the time it takes to turn it off takes too long, like 5-6 seconds to completely turn it off is unnecessary.

This is the only Kettle, over the years, that has been consistently great!
First, I do not understand the bad reviews here. I have over 25-years in IT, now retired, and am amazed at the quality of build and engineering, in this Kettle. I have had mine, since March 2022, and use it daily, for Pour-Over and French Press [I like to change it up sometimes, keeps life interesting], the temperature control is perfect, with a slow progressive rise in temperature, and pinpoint accuracy. I am now blind in one-eye, with poor vision, so the Red Light Ring feature, is perfect for me, and the number display is easily read. I have been through at least four other major brands, that have not lasted this long. You will be happy with this purchase, as I am, though not easily pleased, considering my background, but this SAKI Kettle I love. Updated March 27, 2023: Something major, which I forgot to mention, is the extensive temperature range [many other competitors, only go down to 140 F], whereas I have used this at 105 F, to bloom yeast for bread, and 120 F for making NIDO or other Dry Milk products [I still love milk in my Coffee, but store bought is getting cost prohibitive], it really is great for Tea as well, the accuracy is amazing, as are the opportunities for other uses, you should really explore. Enjoy!

Started off great… now smells like burning plastic
This kettle was great in the beginning — boiled fast, looked nice on the counter, no complaints. But after just six months of use, it suddenly started making a horrible burning plastic smell every time it boils. Totally unusable now. Of course, the return window was only one month, so I’m stuck trying to deal with the manufacturer for a warranty claim. Not worth the hassle. Would not buy this again.

Tempature Control and Precise Pour
Overall, excellent experience from order to daily use starting December 6, and I'm happy I ordered it. The kettle was packaged securely and arrived in new condition. Included in the package are the instructions on use and cleaning that were easy to read, registration card for warranty and cleaning solution. I put the kettle to use the day I received and used a thermometer to check water temperature with the temperature displayed on the base, and the reading on the base was consistent with my thermometer. I appreciate the temperature control option as I prefer temperatures under boiling for my warm beverages. The spout on the kettle provides a slower and precise pour making it more efficient and easy to use. There are minimum and maximum water level marks inside the kettle that are easy to read to support proper use. And, ascetically it is a sleek looking kettle.
