Works Well
Works well. Went with the highest reviewed, inexpensive bug zapper I could find and this fit the bill. We have it set up in our kitchen as it is connected to our living room too, then unplugged all our nightlights and such before bedtime. Let it do its thing and then turn it off. Since doing that, we have had less of a mosquito problem when they slip in through open doors throughout the day. Would recommend.

Great bug zapper!!
This thing is AMESOME! I was skeptical but after reading the reviews, I figured we would try it. We've had it a year now and have to say, it works great and we get so much satisfaction when we hear it zap a darn bug. It does get a little warm though after leaving it on for hours so we are careful where we have it. It's on the countertop in a corner. It works best when it gets dark and we have kitchen lights off. I would say between 6-10pm is when we use it the most.

Works great
I've had this zapper for over a year now from Amazon so I feel I can comment a bit. Still working great! I do not have it plugged in constantly but will have it on for days at a time when for example there may be fungus gnats around due to overwatering plants. That said, I never really have a major flying insect problem, but I have heard it zap here and there when it does its thing. I have never used this outdoors so I have no idea how it would hold up exposed to the outdoors.I mostly agree with what I am reading in the AI summary (nicely implemented btw, kudos Amazon.)Of note:Ease of cleaning - definitely. I find it easy to unscrew the plastic bottom tray over a trash can and done. There has only ever been a little debris in there so in my experience it has not been gross. In addition to emptying the tray here and there I would recommend the occasional blast of air from a rubber rocket blower or whatever you prefer just to ensure no dust buildup.Noise level - it is completely silent except for the occasional zap. In my experience, this is like once or twice a day when plugged in. It can be a bit startling, but I do not think it is excessively loud, and I like that feedback that it is working.Brightness - it is on the bright side with the lights out but not with the lights on. I'd imagine it works better in a dark room. I wouldn't sleep in the same room with it unless you are tolerant to light and zaps or wear earplugs / sleep mask. My kill-a-watt P3 device tells methis is using 12W.Cord length – AI summary flagged this. My guess is this is intentional as tripping over the cable may damage the unit or you might fall. I've seen these short cables in other devices as a safety measure. I have never used an extension cord. I will position it near an outlet elevated on a chair or even the counter. I'd follow all manufacturer instructions regarding this and everything else about it.Lastly, while the zapping element appears to be just a bulb protected by a cage. I wouldn't go poking around it with it turned on. No where near water, children, pets etc. Just follow the manufacturer guidelines.Anyway, works great and I can def. recommend it. I do not love insects but hate to zap them. I only pull this out when they cross into the pest-zone and if you have ever had gnats, you know what I mean. Recommended!

Good value for the price
Bought in May 2024. It stopped working last month (a year later), worked great up to that point.

Kills flying gnats ha ha ha YES!!!
What I like most is the clean snap that I can hear when a gnat, lured in by the black light tries to land on the bulb, but gets cooked by the spark passing through it to reach the second grid. That's one sweet sound, after trying cider vinegar and water with a drop of dish soap in it. The liquid works great for fruit flies, and these appear to be such at first glance, but they are not and are not attracted to the things fruit flies are. The gnats are tiny, like the light produced from a phone screen, follow the reflected phone light to the face of the person using the phone, then the warm air exiting from the nose, and the next breath in, sucks a gnat into your nose, and that's not pleasant at all. I have been bothered all winter by gnats. To tiny for fly swaters, and sprays, to quick for hands, I thought about using hanging flying insect killer strips until it said that it should be in a room that people occupy less than 4 hours a day. That's not what I consider safe for inside. I have had a 2 bulb, rectangular bug zapper that died after years of faithful service. Thinking that the bulbs would be the shortest life of the thing, I ordered a good supply of extras. I still have bulbs, but the zapper is no longer available sadly. I thought that this might serve as a replacement zapper, although it uses horse shoe shaped bulb of the same wattage, but only a single bulb instead of two.Well I got it unpacked and plugged in and in short order I was able to hear that snap of success, as "Another One Bites The Dust"!! The unit has a cleaning brush to tidy the grids, but I expect to just use a small cordless vacuum cleaner to remove any debris that is found in the grid or bottom of the zapper. I will check for a source of bulb replacements after 30 days, since I will know by then if I will keep it. So far however I am thrilled that I am reducing the number of flying pests that I have been trying to remove since last season. Sometimes it makes two snaps in succession, a double whammy!!!! Like a home run with the bases loaded!!! Buy it, it works inside without any toxic chemicals, safe around pets and children too. Unless you have flies for pets, lol.

This is fabulous. It will really quickly clear your space of flies.
This is fabulous. We'd previously tried a purple light with a very sticky surface that took care of a few flies. This caught about 10 to 15 times as many. What a relief. I can see no way it could be better.
