So far has worked great!
I have used this twice so far and it has worked absolutely beautifully! I love that it is a plugin, You can change the light bulb when needed, it is lightweight. My only role complaint so far is that it is so lightweight that I'm a little worried that it'll get knocked over in a strong wind. So I'm going to attempt to weigh it down as you can open the bottom. I'm thinking maybe getting some of those decorative rocks that you can get at the dollar store and using some hot glue. Just to give it some weight so it doesn't blow over in the wind.

Long Lasting Bulb!
I've had this since May 2024 and I've used it every day since (sometimes let it run overnight) and the bulb just now ran out on 03/29/2026. Since I live in Texas and unfortunately in an apartment where neighbors constantly go in and out I have to deal with a constant supply of fresh gnats coming through the vents. They drive me insane and I LOVE hearing that zap. I bought another brand and put in another room and I never hear that zap which is very disappointing since I'm unsure it works. They look similar but this one seems to work better.

Kills flying gnats ha ha ha YES!!!
What I like most is the clean snap that I can hear when a gnat, lured in by the black light tries to land on the bulb, but gets cooked by the spark passing through it to reach the second grid. That's one sweet sound, after trying cider vinegar and water with a drop of dish soap in it. The liquid works great for fruit flies, and these appear to be such at first glance, but they are not and are not attracted to the things fruit flies are. The gnats are tiny, like the light produced from a phone screen, follow the reflected phone light to the face of the person using the phone, then the warm air exiting from the nose, and the next breath in, sucks a gnat into your nose, and that's not pleasant at all. I have been bothered all winter by gnats. To tiny for fly swaters, and sprays, to quick for hands, I thought about using hanging flying insect killer strips until it said that it should be in a room that people occupy less than 4 hours a day. That's not what I consider safe for inside. I have had a 2 bulb, rectangular bug zapper that died after years of faithful service. Thinking that the bulbs would be the shortest life of the thing, I ordered a good supply of extras. I still have bulbs, but the zapper is no longer available sadly. I thought that this might serve as a replacement zapper, although it uses horse shoe shaped bulb of the same wattage, but only a single bulb instead of two. Well I got it unpacked and plugged in and in short order I was able to hear that snap of success, as "Another One Bites The Dust"!! The unit has a cleaning brush to tidy the grids, but I expect to just use a small cordless vacuum cleaner to remove any debris that is found in the grid or bottom of the zapper. I will check for a source of bulb replacements after 30 days, since I will know by then if I will keep it. So far however I am thrilled that I am reducing the number of flying pests that I have been trying to remove since last season. Sometimes it makes two snaps in succession, a double whammy!!!! Like a home run with the bases loaded!!! Buy it, it works inside without any toxic chemicals, safe around pets and children too. Unless you have flies for pets, lol.

Short cable
Works perfectly fine. The only point they need to improve is the design. The electric cable is short and it doesn’t come with tools to hang it in sealing and wall. They need to include a small set of tools for hanging it.

Flying insects don’t stand a chance
Works perfect. I have a doggy door and flys get in my house easily but let me tell you about this zapper, By the time I wake up in the morning they’re all gone. The rewarding sound of my house being fly free

Just works!
Did the job and did it well. I've used this thing inside, outside, in my chicken coops. Great product, just works.

An Ostentatious Violet Menace to the Local Commute
As someone who prides themselves on a 360-degree perspective of the neighborhood, I find the Dickinda 4200V to be an absolute affront to civil liberties. From a purely architectural standpoint, the grid design is suspiciously welcoming—almost flirtatious—which feels like a trap for those of us who appreciate a well-ventilated patio. The primary issue is the light. It is a garish, ultraviolet siren song that is frankly impossible to ignore during one’s evening reconnaissance. It’s "high-powered" in the same way a sledgehammer is high-powered for cracking a peppercorn. 4200 volts? In this economy? It’s excessive. It creates a percussive "pop" that is not only a noise pollutant but serves as a grim reminder that several of my most talented associates—individuals who could walk on ceilings with unparalleled grace—have "retired" suddenly after seeking a closer look at the violet glow. Furthermore, the waterproof casing is a cynical touch. It ensures that even during a refreshing drizzle, there is no sanctuary for those of us just looking for a modest sugar cube or a damp trash lid to call home. It’s far too efficient at "clearing the air," which, if you ask me, makes for a very lonely backyard experience. If you value the delicate, rhythmic humming of the local ecosystem (or just want to avoid the smell of "charred ambition" near your grill), I suggest you stick to something less aggressive. A nice, sticky strip of yellow tape is much more vintage—and at least it gives a fellow a chance to think about his life choices before the end. One star. I’d give it zero, but my hands are currently occupied rubbing themselves together in existential dread.

Quiet but short lifespan.
Worked well at first, fairly quiet. Definitely helped control gnats and small files indoors. Main problem is that it lasted only 8 months with intermittent use.

This is not suitable for UK. It has a US socket and works off a lowet power meaning the moment you plug it makes awful clicking noise like its going to explode. Not even sure why its available in the UK

After battling swarms of mosquitoes during backyard BBQs and sleepless summer nights, this 4200V Electric Bug Zapper has been a total game-changer. It’s like having a tiny, highly trained security force for my patio—one that fries invaders on contact! Why It’s Worth 5 Stars: ✔ 4200V of Instant Justice – The satisfying "ZZZT!" means fewer itchy bites. It obliterates mosquitoes, flies, and even moths mid-air. ✔ Indoor/Outdoor Warrior – Waterproof design survived a surprise rainstorm (still works perfectly). Indoors, it’s quiet and odorless—no stinky sprays! ✔ Low Maintenance & Safe – Easy-to-clean tray catches bug debris, and the protective cage prevents accidental zaps (pet-friendly!). ✔ Versatile Placement – Hangs on my porch, stands on the picnic table, or lights up my tent while camping. Real-World Testing: Backyard BBQ: Cleared a mosquito cloud in 20 minutes—guests actually stayed outside past sunset! Camping Trip: Ran all night on a battery pack (not included)—no bugs in the tent. Indoors: Quietly zapped fruit flies near the kitchen trash. Perfect For: ✓ Bug-bombed patios/decks ✓ Campers & RVers ✓ Garages/porches with light issues Pro Tip: Place it away from seating areas (the sound attracts bugs toward it, not you!). 10/10 Recommend—finally, a bug zapper that actually works without chemicals or noise. Goodbye, pests! 🔥🦟
