AudioQuest Record Brush Antistatic Carbon Plate Brush

I’ve owned many “okay” record brushes over the years, but this one is truly fantastic. It appears to have a very high bristle count, and the bristles are slightly less rigid than those on other brushes. Because of this, it feels gentle on the record surface while doing an excellent job of removing dust and debris. I did notice that the brush seems to be directional. To make this easier, I marked an arrow on the handle pointing toward the spindle so I always use it in the correct direction. I’m not sure whether it has a preferred direction right out of the box, but after a dozen or so uses it definitely seemed to favor one direction. You can tell by both the feel and the sound it makes as it moves across the record. AudioQuest claims this brush helps dissipate static electricity from the record surface, thanks in part to the conductive, gold-colored handle. I found that if I hold the brush in one hand and touch the record spindle with my other hand, it creates a better grounding path—and this made a noticeable difference. If you’re going to buy just one carbon fiber record brush, make it this one. It really works. I’m very pleased with this purchase and highly recommend it.

I’ve owned at least 6 or 8 record cleaning brushes over the years, different brands, different styles. Most did OK, definitely better than nothing. But the Audioquest definitely outdoes every other one I’ve ever owned. I have three turntables in various places in my house and each has an Audioquest Gold brush sitting next to it. These brushes clean well with very little pressure or effort and the anti-static feature is a bonus. All my other brushes went into the trash.

It works very well, but I have noticed you have to make multiple passes sometimes. That is also after brushing it clean with its own mechanism. Maybe its not quite sensitive enough.

When I was first buying a brush I was between this and the Boundless "Amazon Recommended" brush. I figured they would be pretty much the same thing and that I'd say a few bucks with the Boundless brush. That decision ultimately cost me an extra $13 after the Boundless drove me insane and I finally bought this one. What an ENORMOUS improvement this brush is. Firstly, build quality, superior in every single way from the hinge, to the bristles to the handle, to the materials used. Holding them side by side you can immediately tell the AudioQuest brush had WAY more thought put into it. I was extremely happy to find out that that improvement in build quality translates directly to function as well. This brush 100% effectively removes surface dust/hairs AND actually removes static from the record within about 5 seconds of spinning it. The $20 I spent on this brush has ended up being one of the biggest improvements I've made to my system.

The best I’ve used. I’m on my second one of these. The first was losing bristle height in the middle section, perhaps from brushing 7 inches. Not sure. That one is at least five years old. I went to replace it and stopped, as it’s $30, which is high, so I tried others. The Boundless one is super stiff and made a high-pitched scratching sound over the record. Went back. Then I went for some generic soft brush with a straight wooden handle that is probably meant for shaving. People said it was great for records. Plenty soft, but left so much dust behind. Then I tried the silver Audioquest brush. I figured it was about the same. Nope. Handle was crap, falling off every time I used it, and the brush was too stiff and made a scratching noise, though not as bad as the Boundless brush. So, I sucked it up and bought another one of these, for $30. I’m happy.

This brush removes dust that I didn't even know was on my records - they are unbelievably free of pops and crackles now. The trick for me was in figuring out how to use it. You have to use it in a way that it will brush the dust off the side of the record. If you lift if off the record, it will leave a neat line of dust on the record right where you lifted it off the surface. Follow the directions, but make sure you ultimately move the brush off the side of the record. As the manufacturer states, "it is great at attracting dust, but not great at lifting it." Just keep that in mind and you'll be good to go.

Worth the money. Great cleaner for my records and easy to clean.

Well made like most things AudioQuest. If your tight on funds this brush offers you nothing cheaper brands don't deliver too. If you like nice things this is one of them! I have a number of different brushes and this ranks near the top of my list. I find it to be a bit stuff when compared to say the brush made by Clearaudio. Personally I prefer softer but if you like stiff brushes when cleaning you really can't go wrong with this. The build quality is top notch and honestly you can't go wrong with it! If it's in your I recommend it!

Great little record cleaning brush to brush off and remove static from your record each time before playing. Box is marked "Made in China" FYI. The carbon fiber brush filaments are conductive and attached electrically to the gold metal strip along each side of the brush body. The idea is the static electricity on the surface of the record gets grounded to your body and dissipated. The rotating protective cover also cleans the brush bristles when closed. To be honest the brush does feel a bit flimsy for the price, but I suppose its strong enough for the purpose. Would be nice if the price was a bit lower, but Audioquest products seem to have tight price controls no mater where you buy it. Enjoy your Vinyl!

This is a good vinyl brush. It will let you know if you need to ground your turntable properly. I like this. Even though my distributor told me that my Stylus had an automatic ground wire. Bulls..., this brush tells you if it is working or not. Mine wasn't, so I fixed that an put a proper grounding wire and now, no knistern anymore. This is also a one-way brush, which I find good. It will always tell you if it is pointing the wrong way. The right way= smooth. The wrong direction = bumpy. The brush is well built and has a lot of Character and it sits next to 3000.00€ and takes care of it....
