Once finely ground does it seep down the sides of the lid cap? I'm think of tablets?

It does a little bit but not so much you'd lose any and it doesn't "leak" out while you're grinding. But if you are actually wanting to grind tablets it's probably not the right device.

Would this grinder be able to cope with whole nutmegs? And does it stop grinding when there is still a bit of nutmeg left?

It is recommended to break the nutmeg into small pieces and put them into a grinding cup with a grinding capacity of at least 20 grams.

Will this grind salt to a fine consistency?

Yes it will grind most things, it’s very powerful, I generally use it in a pulls method, but it makes light work of grinding coffee beans. It’s very effective.
