Williams-Sonoma Essentials of Slow Cooking: Recipes and Techniques for Delicious Slow-Cooked Meals

I like the recipes in this book. They have good pictures and it is easy to understand the directions. Looking forward to making a lot of them. Cookbook also came undamaged which is a plus as well.

I like this book as it has a large variety of good recipes. There is literally something for everyone.

This is right up there with the rest of the Williams Sonoma books. Great photos, tips, and information, as well as a little history on each dish. Not every recipe is accompanied by a photo, which I was a little upset about but most are so it isn't totally disappointing. Nevertheless, we made several recipes and all have been great so far, typical Williams Sonoma Quality. Only cons I can think of are that a handful of recipes do not have a picture and/or a recipe for a method such as dutch oven or slow cooker. Most (99%) recipes in this book have both methods with individual instructions, however a couple only have one method. We got this for the pressure cooker recipes so for those few which did not include directions for a pressure cooker, we can't really make them. Otherwise, still a great book and those minor flaws have no real negativity over my being happy with the book. I would still recommend.

I am a sucker for the Williams-Sonoma cookbook collection, and this one does not disappoint. Unlike many other slow-cooker cookbooks, which have basic and simple recipes (which all have their place), this book has some delightful recipes that are both creative and quite fancy. I made Chicken and Dumplins the other night for my husband and he LOVED it. It was the first time I had ever tried dumplings, and I was surprised at how easy they were! The recipe called for fresh ingredients, which I love, and the instructions were easy to follow. Everything tasted delicious.If you are looking for a slowcooker cokbook with recipes other than your usual chilies, soups, and dips, this is for you. The variety of recipes is unmatched... you will not be disappointed!

The various Williams-Sonoma cook books are arguably some of the best on the market. This one does not disappoint. The recipes are usually not too complex, use many standard ingredients, directions are easy to follow and an illustration displays the appearance of the completed item. At first glance you might think that this book is limited to recipes for the typical crock pots or slow cookers. This is not the case. The book also includes the use of Dutch Ovens. sauce pans and frying pans for slow cooking methods. So indeed there is a broad base of choices. Also included are short cuts and tips for preparation, things to do in advance to simplify and ease the cooking effort.

I bought this cookbook when I purchased my slow cooker (Hamilton Beach 33967). I chose it because it had such a variety of recipes that looked good, and I have not been disappointed. The recipes are easy to follow, and each recipe gives directions both for using a slow cooker or for using stove top cooking. The hearty stew is possibly the best beef stew I've ever had (maybe because it has a bottle of wine! and I added shitake mushrooms), and the lamb tagine is excellent. A couple of recipes have been less special, but I'm very satisfied.

I've had my slow cooker for two years, use it often, but have been less than thrilled with the recipe books available. Then a friend told me about the chicken tagine recipe in this book, which I tried and loved. Since then I've tried at least 10 other recipes, each one as delicious and worthy of company fare as the next. What's great about the recipes is that there is an option for completing them in the oven, which I prefer for company. If there is one "essential" slow cooker cook book, this is it!

I had seen a few of these recipes on line and used them with good results. I figured the book will have lots more to offer. This is probably true for someone who has a little bit more time and patience than I. I was looking for slow cooking, as in slow cooker cooking. This has a bunch of slow cooker recipes and a bunch of wonderfully sounding recipes for cooking on stove top or oven...slowly. As a working mom, this book is not that helpful. Maybe when I'm retired, I can return to it.

Was recommended this cookbook very pleased with it. Just looked through it quickly. Not made anything yet.

Great recipes and some essentials about slow cooking.

Excellent publication. I bought this for my son because he didn't want to give my copy back. Slow cookers seem to be coming back into fashion.

William Sonoma is synonymous with quality. The recipes in this book are great.
