Quality product. Wish screw were better quality , should have pre drill all screws. everything else was excellent.

We have this gate lock on two of our wooden gate doors and now have securely locked gates. There is a cover over the inside latch so it can't be opened by someone reaching over the gate to unfasten it. We now don't have to keep a padlock on the inside latch and can go in and out of the gate easily using our numeric code. The lock is easy to install and is very easy to use. In other words, we love the lock, works great and is exactly what we needed.

I purchased the Yardlock XLS in January and a few months later had a warranty issue that I was not going to bother about but the wife suggested reaching out to Yardlock. I'm glad I did as Don (the president of Yardlock) sent me the new unit which fixed the problem. I was impressed that he not only took care of the situation himself, but that he added his card in the replacement shipment to call or email if I had any other issues.I am very happy with the purchase of the Yardlock XLS Lock and Latch System and it has held up beautifully for almost a year now. It is used daily and there are no further issues that I have had. I would definitely recommend this product.The installation may be a little tricky for a beginner DIYer, as the angle of the hole through the fencepost is critical for trouble free use and the spring loaded latch portion with the four screw holes in it may need to be squeezed a little before installing the screws so that the moving latch itself doesn't waver from side to side too much. I noticed that originally when it was installed that the latch would be a little too floppy which caused it not to latch easily. I removed it, squeezed the latch some, re-drilled two of the holes on one side of the post a little closer inward that aligned with the newly squeezed latch, and reinstalled the wood screws. It now opens and closes flawlessly!Great product and some of my neighbors are also getting this for their gates as well!

I’ve bought and installed three of these latches - two at my niece’s house and one at mine. They are great for gates that you need to use regularly but still want to lock. This is not intuitive to install but the instructions are good - and be sure to follow them because even a small miscalculation on drilling the hole for the control wire will make it difficult to latch correctly. Especially pay attention to the drilling angle for the latch cable. It’s also very important that the gate and the fence post edges are flush when the gate is closed. Mine is off by about 1/8” and the gate won’t latch from the outside. Also, be aware that the latching bar doesn’t have much length to spare. Because of where on the gate and post I had to attach the hardware, I had to buy a longer latching bar. The combination function works well - again, follow the instructions. The shroud that covers the latch to prevent people from just reaching over the gate to unlatch it works well IF you install it far enough down to prevent someone from reaching over and getting their fingers under the shroud. This isn’t going to stop someone who is really determined to break in, but it will deter most.

This lock was a great investment for my 76 year old mother. The old lock that came with the metal gate never worked. Installer made several adjustments and it just never worked properly.I removed old lock and installed this new one. The screws for the new lock were for wood, so I reused the old metal screws. Works perfectly. My mother was very thankful I suggested it and installed it. The visible holes on the fence are from the previous lock. I had to make one adjustment that you can see from the extra screw on the cross bar. It was just because of the metal gate frame. Otherwise, it is a great lock. It was so easy to install, I may get one for my own wood gate.

Quality product and easy to install. Had questions about the product so I contacted the manufacturer and their customer service was fantastic.

Very clever but simple idea, I was looking for something for my gate but wanted keyless, however most things I looked at was fairly expensive and needed batteries, this ticks every box

At first I had a problem with it not locking but then realized I have to follow the detailed instructions and loop the wire underneath, between the screws to keep it form interfering with the locking mechanism.It was very easy to instal and the instructions were simple and detailed. I would buy it again.

Easy to fit for a DIYer

This was super easy to install on a vinyl fence. I needed to be able to open the gate from both sides, and currently, the lock on the inside before installing this was impossible to reach from the outside. Due to criminal activity around these parts, I want some sort of lock on the gate, but I wanted to be able to get into the gates! Although it says it’s a quick install, it still took about 45 minutes to do it properly. I had to order separate striker bars due to the fact the 4” bars provided weren’t enough for me. That wasn’t a big issue at all. After getting it all installed and ready, everything works perfect and no snags or lags.There is however a few things I’d like to see the company improve with this system;1) The rolling numbers for the lock aren’t quite easy to move. Of course spray lubricant will fix this issue, but perhaps some should be provided.2) The company says these work in cold winters, but it’s a good idea to spray with a lubricant. Perfect - then why not provide some sort of lubricant with the product?3) The raised line in which the numbers need to be lined up to is almost impossible to see. My older parents couldn’t see this line at all, due to the fact it’s the same color and barely raised. I used a sharpie marker to make my own lines on each side. They should be a different color from factory.4) The “sweet spot” where the numbers need to line up seems just a bit awkward and not the easiest to deal with. I’ve purchased many Master locks that use this system and the numbers stop properly. I find this system has issues.Besides those things the company could improve on, I find this to be the best option out there. If I needed more, I’d still buy these as they’re well made and such a great idea. If those improvements were made, I’d give it a 5/5.
