QuiksilverMen's Bushmaster Sun Protection Floppy Visor Bucket Hat

I am pasty white and bald. I also live in Southern California by the beach. I'm outside all the time, and thus, the sun is perpetually trying to murder me. It's not one of those old man floppy hats, but it's definitely a goofy looking white person hat. Quicksilver makes great quality stuff and this is no exception. It does what I need and looks fine. I'm the goofy one, not the hat. I can admit it.

Fits as expected, but I hand washed the hat after receiving it and set it out to dry, resulting in pretty noticeable color bleed/fading. This was hand washed and air dried as the label stated but the hat looks like it’s been at the beach a full season already now. I don’t care too much as this is worn in the sun and at the beach, but I expect more from quicksilver. I have used their products for years surfing, at the beach or even for work. This is the first item I have ever had from them do this, so maybe it’s a one off type of thing. If you have to hand wash your black bush hat, hopefully it turns out better for you. Otherwise, good hat and I will undoubtably get a lot of use from it....on the plus side, it already looks like a seasoned beach hat now?

I absolutely love this boonie hat. The fit is perfect, but can also be worn by my 11 yr old son and 19 yr old daughter. The brim is wide enough to cover my neck and eyes; IMO it’s perfectly balanced, not Short like a Dixie Cup (aka USN or Gilligan cap) and not too long like a sombrero. The material seems durable with good quality thread. I can’t tell if it has any fade resistance, I’m hoping it doesn’t since I prefer a worn in appearance. We’ve used this hat for kayaking, fishing, and walking about our neighborhood. It ended up being popular enough among my family that we had to buy an extra.

Bought these for a trip for my daughters 16th birthday. The girls loved these “dad hats” and it didn’t hurt that they kept their heads protected from the sun. I bought L/XL on accident but they fit just fine. They wore them the whole trip.

I wish I would have done a little more research on these hats before I pulled the trigger on this one. Overall I don't really hate it, but I don't really love it either.Pros:- Provides great shade- ComfortableCons:- I thought it would be more of a white, but it is definitely dark grey- The rim of the hat is WAY larger than I thought. Makes it look like a true safari hatI wanted something that had a smaller rim, but I guess this would be good for other people looking for a lot of shade.

I ordered a large/xlarge as a present & it's too small which is too bad because it's such a nice hat. The person is an average size & always fits other large/xlarge hats but this hat was just too small. So unfortunate.
