Adjustable control works.
I needed one that I could control when the light turns on. The others I had would turn on after it got quite dark. I needed one that I could have it turn on sooner. This was the only one I could find after a long search. I was skeptical that it would work but it does. It takes a little patience to adjust it though.

Not adjustable
This unit is sold as an adjustable sensor. I can assure you it is completely NOT adjustable. Very misleading!

Does the job with help
Item does what its supposed to do. The first thing is that this does utilize AC Mains power and should only be installed by someone with knowledge to avoid getting a possibly deadly shock. The instructions that are given are very unhelpful. I have added a couple photos to hopefully help others with this product.A couple notes on this product are one, based or the circuit design and wiring, I would not put anywhere close to 10 Amps through this thing but rather use it to run a secondary relay that controls the main current needing to be switched.Second, be careful were this gets installed, it's definitely not waterproof or even resistant. After making the few adjustments, this photo sensor works pretty well for the cost and is used to turn on the supplemental lighting in my greenhouse.

Works well in low light, while it still works
This was promising. It worked well in my low-light mounting location. I figured out the adjustment feature via trial and error over a few weeks. You have to catch it RIGHT when the switch opens or closes to know which direction is darker and which is brighter. Instructions would be nice. Then, after less than a week in service, it died. So I'm off to look for a good quality version of this, hopefully made to spec in USA/germany/japan.

Seems to work well, once you get it adjusted.
I'm using this combined with a timer for a grow light over some light loving plants. They're in a window that gets good light when the weather cooperates, but I live in rainy country. It was a bit finicky getting the switch adjusted right, but now the light kicks on when it needs to be on, and I'm not wasting the electricity or dealing with the heat when I don't need it.

works great for low light areas.
I finally found a photocell control that works in a shady area. If your photocell lights do not turn off in a low light area, this one works. And it's adjustable for light sensitivity.

Open to weather
Enclosed units are better.
