It's pink, but otherwise great.
Other reviews of this item included complaints that it came folded in half; mine did not. One corner is a little bit wrinkly, and another is not quite flat on the desk - yet - but those are very minor points. It does stay in place, and that's important to me, as I shuffle things (books as well as papers and files) around on my desk quite a bit. My mouse seems to like it just fine. Other reviewers also complained about the smell, and yes, it does smell a little like a marker. I left it outside for a couple of hours, and now it's fine unless I put my nose within an inch or so of it - which I don't do.The 2018 (and on the flip side, 2019) calendar it comes with is big enough for me to jot notes on, so I don't have to fumble through pages of a wall calendar. The clear plastic cover under which the calendar fits has a 3¼" pocket across the bottom, into which I can tuck notes; it also has a 35 mm "ruler" printed on it. I don't know how much I will use that, but we'll see. There are two other clear plastic pockets, one that's 12" tall by about 5¼" across, with the opening on the outside edge. On the other side of the pad is the second clear pocket, about 3" square, again with the opening along the edge of the pad. There's one more pocket, also about 3" wide, and about that deep - but it's U-shaped, so not really that deep. One thing I'm not sure I'll try to use is the smart phone/business card holder. It's two pieces of [pink] foam that I think I'm supposed to peel and stick onto the upper left corner of the pad, with enough space between them to rest my phone or tuck in some business cards. My phone already has a stand, and it's a home office, so I don't keep business cards on display - but I may be able to use this for something else. I like that this mat has some versatility to it. :-)The only thing I don't like about it - and I debated whether to take a star off for it, and decided not to - is that the only color it comes in is bubble-gum pink. (In some offices, it might be the only cheery dash of color.) It looks like it's going to perfect in every other respect, though, It fits perfectly cross my desk (it's about 25" wide and 12½" deep) and doesn't go too far back from the edge toward my monitor, so - except for the color, I couldn't be happier. I've just started using it today, and anticipate being able to use it for a few years. :-)UPDATE: I've had this for a while now, and overall, still like it. I have noticed two things that I did not expect, though (neither of them deal-breakers). One is that the clear flap under which the calendar goes tends to bow up slightly on one side, so that it's a bit crooked at the bottom. This doesn't affect the function at all; it just bugs me a little. The other is - and my son explained this to me - is that while it generally works fine as a mouse pad, the colors on the calendar - the one it comes with has green and red on it, and I have circled some dates in green and black ink - interfere just slightly with the mouse's function. As my son explained it, the different colors create variances in the way the mouse's underneath light reflects, and the result is that it hesitates every once in a while. I had noticed that, but didn't know why - now I know, it's no big deal. So - I still like this, and if something happened to it, I'd get another one (and hope it wasn't pink).

Nice blotter - BUT WHY WAS IT FOLDED IN HALF FOR SHIPPING??
UPDATE: After leaving heavy books on the crease in the center for six weeks, there was no improvement. The mat is made of a thick, neoprene-like material that once folded retains the crease for eternity. Because of this, I have changed my rating down to one star and added this update. This went into the trash and I ordered a different mat that came shipped flat (yay!!) that has worked out much better for me.This is a nice blotter and the only real problem with it is that it was folded in half and enclosed in a plastic envelope when it was shipped. This is a somewhat thick, rubber-like mat and folding it for storage and shipping has left a severe crease down the center. This presents several issues, primarily that the mat does not lay flat. I have had it laying "flat" under heavy books since I received it almost a week ago and the crease is still apparent. The clear plastic sheet that overlays the center of the mat is also creased and also does not lay flat and anything that is put underneath the clear sheet isn't really secure. It was shipped with a full 2018 calendar under the center section and that was ALSO creased from the fold and made it even more difficult to try to flatten the whole thing out.I received all the calendar inserts as shown in the photograph, but I chose not to use them. However, all of them were of very nice quality and printed on good, heavy paper.Overall this is a nice blotter and works well for the space I purchased it for. I don't use it as a mouse pad, but I think it would work pretty well for that. The only issue I can see is that there are "seams" of plastic that divide the sections, which may interfere in using a mouse. It is an unconventional shape and size, which works for my desk. Nevertheless, the crease down the middle is a BIG problem and really detracts from the usability of this item in my view, as well as makes it look pretty junky. If I take the heavy books off, the crease pops back up within an hour or so. Bummer. If the pad were rolled for storage and shipping there would not have been an issue.

Won't lay flat after being folded for shipping. BUMMED
Well, I like the item itself, as always Amazon Prime got it to me on Time with no issues. Wait for it.......However, it came in a box all by itself, very nicely packaged on the outside and on the inside the item, was again, nicely packaged. This is where my reluctant 3 starts come in to focus..... the package within the package more protected then MOST of the actual fragile items I've bought online! This is a long-ish item that was FOLDED in half, right downtown the middle....then I guess shrink wrapped and then taped up so tight! I was impressed, at first. The giant mouse pad is of nice flexible material, its soft and slip resistant-that means there is an EXTREMELY serious crease smack dab down the center of this desk sided pad! This poses a problem and if I have to explain more then I can't help you.I'm hoping it will lay flat but this us a Christmas gift so I don't know if I should just send back and get something else from somewhere else maybe local so its not BENT or what......ugg I just WISH the darn thing wasn't folded in half and laid flat on the desktop! Disappointed.

Save your money
The worst product I have ever bought online. Y’all my product came in A GARBAGE BAG 😂😂 this is beyond comical omg. I opened the bag and it was a soggy pile of garbage. I didn’t even bring it into my home. After I finished digging through what used to be the box it was packaged in I see the bag and it’s filled with water!! Destroyed!!! I open the plastic that is supposed to protect it and the product came foldeddddd and the smell of plastic that was coming from it. Just wow. DONT BOTHER!
