Seller or nutro, please answer. are these made in the usa?

I feel a bit fooled as a dog trainer and retired veterinary technician where dog nutrition was and still is my passion.  I, well more correctly my German Shepherd Dog loves these treats and I really didn't read the package close enough. I am getting really, really irritated by packaging which shows the USA, or other illustrations that make one think they are 100% made/ingredients in the USA.  Regarding these treats, Nutro states they are "Made in the USA from Quality Ingredients from Around the World".....so what does THAT mean?? Well, we don't know. Could they possibly list at a minimum what country(s) they are importing ingredients for these treats? The MADE in USA with imported ingredients leaves the playing field wide open for importing ingredients from CHINA...whats to stop them? They are informing the buyer. Some might remember the 2007 dog "treat" recall  (melamine poisoning). Me? I'm trusting Nutro for now as it seems to be a fantastic treat...but those of us that stand firm on purchasing the best of the best end up trusting these companies in the end it's because our pets love these treats......but should we settle for that when there are treats available that are completely made in the USA with USA ingredients?  I too would love to hear from Nutro regarding these wonderful smelling, dog loving treats.

Does this product have chicken in it

It has brown rice,oatmeal,chicken meal,cane molasses,sunflower oil,preserved with mixed Tocopherols,dried blueberries,dried cranberries,dried cherries,natural flavors,rosemary extract. That is the list of ingredients hope this helps.

Third ingredient is chicken meal? How can you state that there are no chicken by products in this product?

The one respondent here is giving inaccurate info by not distinguishing between " chicken meal " and "poultry by-product meal.  "Poultry By-Product Meal" by definition is  – A rendered version of the previous ingredient that may also include feathers, heads, feet, undeveloped eggs, intestines or whole carcasses from slaughtered or 4-D animals. You will see it on the label as species-specific, i.e., Turkey by-product meal; or generically as: Poultry By-Product Meal.  Visit the AAFCO website to read more on this subject.

Miami, Oklahoma is a quaint town in North east Oklahoma.  There is a dog food plant there.  You can be sceptical of any product with "  Made in the USA" on it.  Nutro's products have proven to be a great company.  Give or try to give a chinese dog food to your dog.  My dog sniffs it, looks at me and walks off. My 14 year old Boston Terrier is doing great.  She's been on Nutro dog food and treats her entire life and is showing no signs of slowing down.
