iGaging Combination Square Set 6" & 12" 4R Steel Blade High Precision

I embarrassingly admit I don't write many reviews. That said however I feel compelled to write this. I started in metal work and brought that expectation of accuracy to woodwork. Oh how I have been disappointed. Even the scale on my high end table saw could not meet my expectations. This product however : Squareness - This set is bang on. Not even my 4x readers could see the light between this large combination square and my master (10" metal) machine calibration square. I have a Starrett combination which is my go-to for master cut verification checks. When I compared these squares and the Starrett to a master square they all passed with flying colours. This is a solid product at a great price.

These are very well made and incredibly accurate.

Arrived yesterday, both squares are dead accurate, impressive. I like the demarcations, very crisp and clear. Machining is good, I knocked all edges off with 3000 grit and now the tool feels better. Two things bother me about these tools. The knurled knob is too small to function well, as you really have to tighten the blade down hard on these. Also, even tightened fully, the blades are free to tilt a little side to side. It does not effect accuracy, but to me, a tool should feel solid, and not wiggle. Good value for the money .

I bought these to replace my Swanson squares that wouldn’t hold their position and weren’t very square. These are both true 90 degrees, stay in place, and are very precise with their measurements.

Great value for the money, do not expect super high quality these are not Starrett, but are so superior to the basic sets that the value is super. I use in the field and like the case they are in. For field work these are exactly what I wanted, better than the average, but not tool room quality. They hold their locations and do not slip. Took the scales and sanded with 360 wet dry paper to smooth the edges, they worked easier and felt better. For my needs these are great and like the purchase. I have tool room level of these in my shop and would not want to take a chance damaging in the field these are a great option for my field needs.

Really nice, high quality squares. Solid construction and performance at a reasonable price. I’ve bout several igaging products and haven’t ever been disappointed.

These are pretty good combination squares. I’ve been using their cousins for 60 years or so. If you are a machinist at heart who works wood you might not get them hoping that they will match up to your best square. They will not…at least the larger of the two will not. Either my best square is no longer square or the 12” square in this set is out a couple thousandths over 12 inches. I have a work around so I guess I’ll keep them but for those of you who are more obsessive/compulsive than I…perhaps move up to a more expensive set. They are made well but if a square isn’t square….it would be like going to the dentist for a haircut….you might get lucky but don’t get your hopes up.

These look and feel like a quality set. Why would they put them in a cheap, flimsy, non-compartmented case? Someday I will make a proper wooden case with French cutouts to protect these.

Storage case was broken and 12inch combination square is not accurate. Checked against my machinist square and It is 0.7mm out in its total lenth.I am assuming its poor quality control or was damaged bent out of square from the impact via the cracked case .I have neither the time or patience to send it back to the USA so £60 in the bin

They are accurately square. However, they arrived with so many rough edges and a tough coating of some sort, that they are nearly unusable without a lot of smoothing work to make them slide well enough for any accuracy. For that price they should arrive in working condition!
