Great Radio!
After Hurricane Helene hit the east coast, I had to go in my garage to pull out a big bulky radio (that used several D batteries) to get information when our power was out for days. With this, I'm much more prepared! It's light weight and easily portable. It works great and the price can't be beat. Very clear channels with hardly no static on any channels and only uses 2 AA batteries too!

🥰
I am very satisfied with the PRUNUS J-166 portable radio. The sound quality is clear, and the reception for AM and FM stations is excellent. It’s lightweight, easy to carry, and very simple to use, even for someone who isn’t very familiar with technology. The battery life is also impressive, allowing for long hours of listening without interruptions. Overall, this radio delivers great value for the price, and I highly recommend it.

Good Radio at a Great Price
I bought a PRUNUS J-166 a year and a half ago just to have a simple portable radio on-hand for emergencies and general listening. Was surprised by how much this little radio delivers for under 10 bucks. The DSP tuning takes a little getting used to. It locks onto signals quickly and you have to tune slower than with a variable analog tuning circuit. Had to play with it a bit to get the hang of the tuner. That being said it has excellent reception for a compact radio. No problem pulling in local FM stations within 30-40 miles clearly with the telescopic antenna extended. AM pulls in locals within the same radius and a few distant clear channel powerhouse stations daytime. Nighttime I can pull in stations from all over which makes this a fun radio for DX'ing the AM band at night. The speaker and sound quality is what I would expect from a pocket portable. It's not gonna blow you with sound but that's why I bought it. No rechargable battery via USB so keep some AA alkaline or rechargeable Nimh cells handy. Battery life in this radio is good to excellent as a pocket portable doesn't draw much current. It's a nice radio for the price.

Great reception and sound quality for such a small portable radio.
This is a very nice little AM/FM radio I bought for when we experience power outages. It gets great reception in a house that normally has poor reception and has great sound. Conviently powered by 2 AA batteries.

Emergency Radio? I think you should buy this one.
I've been aware that I need an emergency radio on hand, but have been overwhelmed by the options. This one looked like a minimum viable solution (which is my key criterion for prep stuff). Knowing that a cheap radio might could be so poorly made that it isn't useful, I took a chance and bought one to evaluate. I'm glad I did. I've been testing it now for several days. This little radio was so all-around good that I decided to write a detailed review. This is voluntary, unpaid and unprompted. Summary- I'm convinced so far that this is an excellent emergency radio, better than most of the labelled 'emergency' radios. Here's why I say this: 1. Generally, it looks and feels like a well built, simple, functional radio- a pleasant surprise. The case in particular is well fitted and finished. The tuning display and other controls are well placed, feel good and operate properly. 2. This runs on two AA batteries- not rare and expensive 9V. Run time is well in excess of 100 hours- I am four days into 'round the clock testing. Solar/crank/lithium rechargeables might suit long-term off-grid use, but add weight, size and cost. One set of AAs should last for months of careful use. 3. Not waterproof, but neither are most cell phones. But it fits in a sandwich zip lock- even when it's working. BTW it also fits in a 40 oz peanut butter jar, with room for a candle, lighter, space blanket and small flashlight. 4. Usable wrist strap for hanging, securing on a pack, etc. You need this. 5. Sensitivity and selectivity are fine. AM stations are getting rare around here, but it pulls the six local stations. FM sensitivity is comparable to my car's radio- it grabs about 20 stations with the antenna folded, and does a good job of separating adjacent stations. The telescoping antenna helps with weak stations, but these antennas are all fragile and probably should be kept stowed. A tuning LED is nice touch. 6. Sound quality is surprisingly good. I have been listening to classical music in my garage- and it is fully audible, and pleasant to listen to. It can get buzzy if you turn the volume way up, so don't do that. It's playing right now in the garage, and its loud enough to hear through the door in the kitchen. 7. Small size, like a cell phone but thicker- about 25mm. Pocket clip is thoughtful and looks useful, but its plastic and might be fragile. 8. Excellent price. Buy two or three, and get radios for sharing, barter etc- for less money than a fancy do-all. 9. No aircraft, shortwave or ham bands. These aren't often needed. Ham equipment is a good idea, but 2-way com radios have different requirements, and should be evaluated separately. My bottom line is that I'm buying a couple more of these for the prep stack.

Nice little radio and works well
Nice little radio. Works well and picks up our local radio station well. I like the clip on the back so I can clip it to even a box and listen to it. I like how I can turn the sound down low and still hear it as I live close to others and don't want to disturb them or I can even use headphones. Well, worth the price.

Afinal sucedeu exatamente o inverso.

Bought this radio to have access to emergency information should we have power outages or cell phone loss. Great radio to keep at hand along with some AA batteries (not included, no issues). Going to keep in the kitchen for easy access. The unit is a good size, easy to tune, quick to load with batteries and has good sound quality. Highly recommend for folks to have in case of storms or other events to keep you in the know on what's happening in your town.

I use a radio when I’m doing work at my customers homes. I am usually in and out in an hour and a half at most. I am not interested in carrying a big radio for something of that short duration. About eight or nine months ago I started taking a little radio that I bought at a discount store and it was OK did the job, but was always trying to tune it in and sometimes had to position it in the right way for it to even be enjoyable enough to keep it on. So with a bit of hesitation, I’ve read the reviews about this radio. It’s basically about the same size as the one I had, and I was definitely looking for something that was small enough to almost not even be a consideration for carrying in and out of places, I just stick it in my tool bag off to the side. Well once I got this one up and going, all I can say is wow this is incredible. My jobs are more enjoyable because it has great sound for such a little radio and I’m not ever finding. I’m starting to play the tune it again for the 10th time game. Without hesitation, I would highly recommend this radio if that’s what you’re looking for a nice small radio that is reliable with actually decent sound.

Tenía mis dudas de esta marca. Después de tres semanas, falló, lo devolví, con el costo por mi cuenta. Por lo que no lo recomiendo.
