Grangers Down Wash Kit | Down Wash 10 oz Concentrate and 3 Reusable Dry Balls to Restore Down Loft

Disclaimer: I paid the full $9.99 for the 10oz bottle and 3 dryer balls, and I would pay twice much for how well this worked.Background: I have an 8 year old 20° okay-ish backpacking sleeping bag from my Boy Scout days which made it through many backpacking adventures and campouts w/o being washed, and was improperly stored in its compression sack. It was grimy and devoid of all it's fluff (aka near death). I also have a nice $200 Mountain Hardwear coat that I just patched a burn hole in...also 4-5 years and starting to get gross. I read horror stories about ruining down articles in the wash, and was about to give up on both items. This detergent was one I read about, and was relatively cheap compared to a new sleeping bag or coat.Washing: I followed the directions verbatim...don't bother reading any of the millions of articles online that tell you different things. In fact, I washed both at my laundromat at the same time in a large commercial washer on cold (just used 3 caps of the liquid). Running low on time, I only threw the items with the drier balls on low heat in the tumble drier for 30 minutes, then hung them up at home. They looked fine, but there were numerous clumps...I was concerned.Crossing the finish line: Later at home, I independently threw the coat in my home drier with the balls for about 2 more hours. Same with the bag. The results were INSANE. The package didn't lie...my coat looked brand new, and had greater loft (puffiness) than it ever did!!! The sleeping bag looks brand new (tag is still browned with age). I have since hung it up properly and can't wait to backpack with it next month in Nebraska.How much can you wash with this?I again, washed an entire, albeit smaller, sleeping bag, and a huge puffer coat. I STILL had enough to wash a larger Eddie Bauer mummy sleeping bag from my earlier Boy Scout days, and STILL have maybe a enough for two coats.Don't throw old musty, smely, flat coats or sleeping bags away. Give this product a try. All you have to do is dry (on low heat) for way longer than you think is necessary, and you will be surprised :) I will definitely trust this product in about 4 years when my beloved Patagonia Nano Puff jacket needs a facelift...

I tried this for all my coats today and I am very happy with the results! I washed 3 coats- 2 with down and 1 with poly fill. I put them into the wash as instructed and dryer them using the balls. My coats are as fluffy as the day I got them! I put my coats into mesh bags before washing and used the fluff setting with no heat in the dryer. Took around 2 hours to dry and they are nice, clean, and soft. There was no scent in the product. The drier balls are very hard, so the drying process gets very loud.

Have several down quilts and throws I use for camping. They have collected dirty and odor from many trips so bought this product to freshen them up. Works great!Super easy to use - just like any detergent in my front-loading washer. The quilts came out smelling fresh and without the grime. However, they were waterlogged and flat. The dryer balls (included) fluffed my quilts back up to new in the dryer (though I needed 2+ dryer cycles on Delicate to get them done).Highly Recommend this product! Will buy again!

I clean 4 down pillows and a queen sized down comforter with Granger Down Wash Kit.The results were that all down products were properly washed. I did notice that the loft of the down was fluffier and there were no down clumps.

I thought I ruined a jacket with the wrong detergent. It turned out clumpy. So I rewashed it with this system. It came out nice and puffy. The jacket looks and feels brand new. Great product!

Worked well for cleaning my down sleeping bag. Tumbled dry on low heat with the balls provided no clumping of the down bags smells clean

I was really nervous about washing my down coat for the first time. It was NOT inexpensive! I went online to find out the best way to wash it, and was told about GRANGER'S DOWN WASH KIT. I got it today, and washed my coat. WOW! It came out looking like brand new! I highly recommend this product to keep your fine down apparel in tiptop shape.
