The Stoics (Illustrated)

Not helpful in studying stoicism
This is really primarily a biography of Zeno of Citium but talks more about daily encounters that he had that have no real bearing on stoicism and anything particularly useful. This book is only about the Greek stoics and they were more about arguing whether their logic physics and ethics is better described as an egg with a shell a white and a yoke, or a garden with the fence and ground and trees . The Roman Stoics were the one to really advanced the ethical and behavioral system of Stoicism. I'd skip this book if I had it to do over again.

I haven't read through this completely yet, but what I've read so far really is outstanding. It's written by a little known figure of some philosophical genius.

CREATORS OF WESTERN CIVILIZATION
Great translation of Diogenes’s account of the early Greek originators of the Stoic philosophy, including Zeno, often considered the founder of that school. Fascinating to read about not just the thoughts of such brilliant philosophers but also to peruse the engrossing sketches of their lives. Wonderful to experience the minds and lives of the ancient Greeks who were after all the creators of the views and outlooks of Western civilization which we all share.
