This is my second update. I'm extremely pleased with how quickly the company responded to my issues. They have fully refunded the order and are shipping me a newer model at not cost. That's pretty impressive in my opinion. They clearly care about customer satisfaction. Updating the review to five stars as a result.Update to my original review below: Lowered rating to One star because after slightly over a month of use, the water pump has stopped working and the evaporative cooling feature no longer works. I've cleaned the unit as instructed, but it did not help. This might be why i kept smelling that strange odor? The seller sent me an email regarding a refund and trying a newer style unit. I replied to them but they have not responded. I'm very disappointed. If I hear from them I will update my review again.Bought this unit for my 30ft travel trailer. It cools "ok" and is definitely better than just a fan. I'm not super unhappy with it, but here are a few issues I have: I needed a slim, space saving unit, but the round base requires that it have substantial floor room. Also, after over a month of usage it has developed a terrible "plastic/chemical" smell that is extremely unpleasant. The single most annoying feature is the flimsy plastic flap that covers the water area. It is cheap and hard to keep in place, making it challenging to pour in the water and ice packs. I have used the timer, but have yet to have it hold up with cooling for more than a few hours, even with the ice packs. Overall, it isn't terrible, but it needs some design changes and some way to address that deadly plastic odor.

Whatever you do, don't buy this. I bought this for my bedroom to help keep me cool at night when I sleep in the Texas summers. It lasted 1 summer. About 6 months. The swamp cooler did NOTHING either. there was zero difference in temp when using that mechanism. Then, it just stopped working. Complete rip off.

*update, original review at bottom*Customer service reached out to me and offered a full refund along with a new device for free trial. Given my situation with tight quarters and having to have already gotten a new a/c after it broke due to my home area in Texas being in the 90’s for the day’s high point for indefinite time the day after and since then, I will be accepting the refund but the free trial would be impractical for me to have the a/c and another decent size device in small quarters in my home. But I am very impressed with customer service’s handling of the situation. I raised my review 3 stars as my first cooler was pretty bad, but their customer service handling of the situation was good and proper and without knowing which way the second one would work for sure I must leave it at 4 stars but that is not fully on this company, that is simply because of the fact that I had time restraints in keeping my home cool and needing a replacement immediately.I was comfortable going to 4 stars because of how well customer service handled the situation, they certainly care about customer satisfaction more than a lot of companies that sell products online and I was impressed. I also checked reviews for similar situations and I saw other reviewers who had issues and received the same offer who took the trial and the newer models they received worked very well for them according to reviews.All in all, customer service stands out really well. This one just didn’t work out for me but it could very well work out for you. If they stand behind their product like they do and other verified purchase reviews say their newer models work great, I give them the benefit of the doubt to say it could work very well, it just wasn’t the right system for me in my situation. Although it may work well for whoever may be reading this considering a purchase of the product.*original review*I’ve had it less than a month, it didn’t cool very well (granted I am in a camper but I ran a dehumidifier to help it run better and opened windows and main door leaving the screen door closed. The oscillation stopped working with the fan turned so it’s only blowing out on one half of the opening. It also started leaking water out of where the wire for the plug comes out of it while using the cold feature. Very disappointed spending $200 on this for it to fail and have to spend a lot more to replace the broken a/c instead of being able to use this. Hoping it’s returnable for being defective but we’ll see.

My husband love to cook and doing some house chores at the garage. So my kids love to play around him . But there is no AC at the garage. Thought just to give a try to buy a air cooler which doesn’t require ventilation. My god it work out great . Just like it advertised . Easy to set up and it come with the ice pack to help quicker cooling. It has 3 different speed control and run quietly and efficiently. Also it is light , and easy to portable to anywhere is needed.

The fan is fine. Quiet, and works well with multiple settings. My biggest complaint about the fan part is there's no indication on the front of the unit that says which mode it's in.My biggest complaint about about the cooler portion is that it doesn't work, period. I don't care how much ice you put in the water...the air coming out is the same temp as a regular fan when put side by side.Save your money, you can get a nice fan for much less.EDIT: (added pic) I found the styrofoam packaging the fan comes in makes a great tray for microwaved ramen/hot bowls from the mic. No stars added but may help ease the pain of finding out the machine does not work as intended.
