Rain Bird SWGE050B EZ Pipe/Swing Pipe Elbow Fitting, 1/2" Male Pipe Thread x 1/2" Barb, 10-Pack

This is exactly as described - OEM product. It's the part to connect either end of the swing pipe to the 1/2 inch riser or 1/2 inch sprinkler. Make sure you get the right one - these are male. They screw on to the Swing Pipe with a bit of effort, but make a tight fit. Only works for Swing Pipe, not for other kinds of tubing.

Barb is undersized for all common hard plastic underground 1/2" sprinkler pipe. Cannot clamp hard enough with screw clamp. It will leak. All quality fittings like this require heated-hose-insert or a hammer tap to secure in the pipe. And Rain Bird puts their name on these parts? Is anyone watching the store? The Rain Bird fittings you get at Home Depot actually fit. Classic. UPDATE 6/26/22 - I stand corrected. Not all hard plastic underground pipe has the ID (5/8") I bought at Menards (100' roll). Apparently, Rain Bird brand 1/2" pipe has an ID of 1/2". SO,,,, bottom line, be very careful regarding these details. I did just buy 1/2" elbows from our local Lumberjack Hardware where the elbow barbs are 5/8".

At the local home center these elbows are over $1 a piece, these are less then half the price. This is for pop up sprinkler heads, makes installation so much easier since you put on flex pipe and you can adjust the location and height so easily. saves a lot of time.

We replaced the elbow joint and sprinkler head that waters a tree. It was very easy to install and works perfectly.

These fit perfectly on Rain Bird T63 blank 1/2” distribution tubing (0.54 ID x 0.63 OD).

Easy to use and seem durable. They are underground so there shouldn't be any problems. Would definitely buy again.
