Hot Seat: A Hot Firefighter, Big, Crazy Family, Opposites Attract MM Romance (The Hot Cannolis)

These authors are new to me and I really liked the writing styles. I really enjoyed this first book in a new series for me. Definitely looking forward to read more.

I’m a little torn in my review of this book, because although there was lots I liked, there were also a couple of things I didn’t.I didn’t realise going in that it followed on from Fireman’s Carry, a free read from Eli Easton. I think as a result it felt like it had started in the middle of the story and yet for me it still took a little while to get going. Definitely get Fireman’s Carry and read that first and treat it as one big book to get maximum enjoyment.As some other reviews have commented on, this felt like more of a coming out story for Mike than it was a romance between Mike & Shane. However that’s not to say I didn’t enjoy it and the relationship between them that developed and I could understand Mike’s fears about coming out to both his family and at work.I loved all the female family members who befriended Shane and unwittingly supported Mike too. Pops and Shane’s friends were great too. But pretty much all the men in Mike’s life were homophobic and on occasion outright hostile to Shane. I think I’m used to seeing just one “bad guy” in a book, and so having a large section of the family act in a similar way made the whole male side of the family come across as a bit toxic.I really enjoyed seeing Mike embrace who he was - the times when he allowed that to happen - and I hope we see more glimpses of Shane’s fabulous friends in the future.The next book is going to be interesting because it’s obviously going to be a redemption story for someone who was not very likeable for much of this book. But sometimes those books that win us over are the best ones, so I’ll be reading book 2 when it’s out to see Donny’s story.

I read this book in one sitting, I was hooked from the first few pages, I was drawn into the story as I come from a similar close-knit family, and went through the same coming out to my family, I laughed and rooted for mike canali a handsome fireman as he tries to come to terms with his sexuality, a love story between Mike who is from a macho family ,and shane who is out proud and flamboyant , a lovely coming out story,

First book in a new series and I'm already looking forward to uncle Ricky's book although I'm pretty sure Donny will be next. We have ourselves a big family of Alpha Italians and Mike, who is the youngest son has fallen head over heels for Shane. Their story is rocky and I loved the drama. Sexual chemistry between the main characters is off the charts. I thoroughly enjoyed this book.

Loved this opposites attract story. Who doesn’t love a hot firefighter and you get a whole family for the price of one here? Mike and Shane are such a lovely couple, one that really makes your heart sing and has you rooting for them from the get-go with some truly ‘heart in the mouth’ moments. The writing style is fluid and so easy to read. We meet a whole family of hotties here, The Hot Cannolis’, and as this is the first in a series there is plenty more to look forward to.

Eli is one of my favourite authors and this book captured me from the very first page. I loved both Shane and Mike's story as it captures their fears and emotions and how vulnerable their soul was. This book maintained a good pace and was told from dual POV, my personal favourite as it brought out the feels from me, one minute I was smiling and then deep devastation.This was an easy 5 stars from me.

This book was amazing! I was waiting for it very impatiently, and just by reading the synopsis I had a feeling it would be a gem.. it did not disappoint! The main characters were such sweethearts! I cried and laughed, and felt a whirlwind of emotions while reading this heartwarming story! <3 Can’t wait for the second one!

Believable and loveable lead characters and great supporting cast of traditional Italian family, with a very moving coming out story.
