Amazing book
This plot takes us back to the post-independence period. Our protagonist is a twelve-year-old, Aryali. He belongs to a lower caste and even is an illiterate. The only way he could support his family is by providing them some financial support and the only possible way is by doing a job. Due to his status, he could afford to be a cobbler. But while he is doing the job, he is dissatisfied as he gets to see the difference drawn by the society at its bare form and it tears his heart apart. But life isn't unfair to the one who is working hard to survive through their series of struggle of life. What happened that the tiny boy got the motivation to read and learn, eventually his life is turned upside down. The author has definitely picked out one stereotype that has been living in the society for the longest time possible and it is somewhere still existing. The plot highlights the development of the protagonist and it's a treat to read. The narration is kept simple and easy making it a good read for all the readers.

A book to implore
We live in a society which has evolved immensely since the ancient times and has made remarkable and significant progress over the ages, however yet there is one thing which is prominently seen and observed, no matter how much we try to deny it and that is discrimination.Today, when we are at a point where everything has advanced so much and so many practices are abolished, still we find ourselves under the siege which is echoing by the cries of those who have been suppressed and subjugated.During such times, ‘Jaihind Made The Cobbler A Novelist’ by Muntazir Imam proves to be a refreshing story set in the backdrop of the eighties era, when a young boy, with his great determination sets out to endeavor on a feat that has been deemed impossible by many.At a time when no one even thought about standing out and doing something against what was considered to be norms, Aryali, the main protagonist of our story chose to disregard what his family expected of him, and rather decided to make his own path towards what he himself desired. As it is with every success story, the struggles that our main lead faces were many, sometimes almost insurmountable, yet where there is a will, there is a way, and so he was able to overcome all the adversities and be an example to others. Hence I am going to give this book FIVE STARS ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Good read
India got its freedom in 1947; however, we are still slaves of social discrimination based on caste and money. I grew up in India, living by the reality of the caste system; I learned and unlearned many things when I read many books based on the caste system.“Jaihind made the cobbler a novelist” is an inspiring and thought-provoking book penned by “Muntazir Imam.”The story revolves around a twelve-year-old boy Aryali, who belongs to a cobbler’s family. His family dreamed of Aryali becoming a good shoe keeper one day. However, Aryali’s thoughts changed when he found an old book of hope, light and gave him the strength to achieve his dreams against all the odds. The author, through Aryali, portrays the prejudice against the lower casts, like calling “Babu” to same-aged boys of the upper caste. The story reflects the pain, humiliation, and struggle a lower cast individual faced in society. I liked the journey of Aryali from enlightenment towards his rights to work towards them.Overall, “Jaihind made the cobbler a novelist” is an absorbing read, and I will recommend this book to everyone.

An unconventional read about social ills
This book sheds light on the sensitive issue of caste system in India and the desperate aspirations of the young minds who want to break free from the shackles. The author has given a raw and rustic picture of the rural India especially the way their thoughts and relationship equations work. It was an eye-opening experience for me to delve into a different world of thought-process and life style. The writing style was polished and befitting the way Aryali saw the world. The author went into too much detailing and building the plot for certain incidents which dis not add value to the plot and simply increased the reading time. All in all, it was an insightful and emotionally rich read without the plotline indulging in any drama.
