Karate-Robo Zaborgar [Blu-ray]

Japanese classic. Highly recommend!
One of the best films of modern times. A story of the relationship between two brothers, if one of them died by breast-feeding from his father, and had his soul inserted into a robot that transforms into a motorcycle. Oh, and they're both cops. A timeless tale, really. And they fight something called a diarrhea robot. I originally watched this on Netflix, but was compelled to purchase the Blu Ray after it was removed from the service, because I need to have this in my life.

thank you Mr Noboru Iguchi for the ZABORGAR Movie
got this for Christmas last year and very happy it's in my collection. it's different from the old 70's TV show and is kind of cheesy but that's what I like about it and I think what makes it great the way it is. I really love Daimon's fighting scenes and Zaborgar's transforming and fighting scenes the most again very happy with my purchase. I don't want to spoil anything for you but if you like cheesy Japan films along with awesome fighting Robots I think you will love it.Japanese Language 5.1 & Stereo with optional subtitlesExtras are trailers for other Sushi Typhoon movies and bonus Short FilmsP.S. I also wrote a review for Mr. Iguchi's other film "Dead Sushi" look for that too :D

I don't know how this didn't get an Academy Award.
Karate Robo Zaborgar is the perfect mix of Action, thrill, deceit, secrets, romance, and a vigilante out for justice. The movie starts with a guy who works with the police academy named Daemon who fights crime with Karate side by side with his half motorcycle half robot brother. Together they must take on the evil corporation of *Insert cheesy evil corporation name here* who killed thier father and are seemingly unstoppable with a flying castle, a giant robot, and a rich leader. The Karate brothers must band together and fight for justice and thier fathers honor.

Surprisingly fun and more than expected
Apparently this is an update to one of those Japanese hero shows along the lines of Ultraman: The Complete Series and Johnny Sokko and His Flying Robot: The Complete Series .The story is told in two parts. The first is hilariously funny, with cheap looking effects and fun fight sequences. The main character is Daimon, a 22-year old who appears to be the only employee of the Special Police unit. He rides a motorcycle that transforms into a fighting robot. Oh yeah, the robot was created from the DNA of Daimon's dead brother. The plot of this part is pretty predictable, but I had fun watching it.The second part takes place 25 years later. Daimon is now 47-years old, diabetic, penniless, and has a bad back. Although there are some early scenes here that are laugh out loud funny, the second part doesn't hold a lot of surprises either, but does have a lot of heart. It also has better effects than part 1, and the forced perspective shots of the Jumbo Mecha are pretty good for the most part. I especially liked the scene where the Jumbo Mecha is destroying Tokyo while talking to a friend on a cell phone. The closing credits show some of the same scenes from the original TV series (which I don't believe is available in the US) and it's fun to watch and see how much better this movie actually does them.If you're a fan of these types of shows, this one is a worthwhile addition to your collection. RECOMMENDED.

Bromance material
My husband is obsessed with this movie. I got it for him a while ago after he stumbled upon it on Netflix. He can't stop talking about it. I don't get it but I'm OK with that.

This is my new favorite movie
Karate Robo Zaborgar may just be the greatest piece of cinematography ever created. With characters like Bulldog Car Robot, Cyborg Football Babes (they shoot DINOSAURS out of their boobs!), and Zaborgar himself (a robot made from human DNA that turns into a motorcycle), it's surprising that they even needed a plot. From my understanding, Karate Robo Zaborgar was made as a parody of an old campy Japanese show of the same name and premise. It definitely shows; this movie was simultaneously hilarious and awesome, packed with bizarre campy moments and awesome fighting throughout the whole thing. If you still have any apprehension as to whether or not you should give this a watch, please go on youtube and watch any of the Zaborgar shorts contained therein, or go read the Cracked dot com article reviewing it.You will never be the same again.

Crazy Zany Robot Romp
Indescribable... This movie has it all.. Transforming Robots who is also the brother of the main character who gets kicked out of the Police Force but seeks justice for his Father's death against a league of Evil Cyborgs bent on creating the ultimate Giant Robot.. But the adventure spans a whole generation of characters... It's madness and totally fun!

A fine film for Japanese FX fans.
Hilarious homage to--and parody of--late Showa era tokusatsu TV and movies. The villains are over the top, but then again so are the heroes. And the trailer collection is absolutely marvelous!

Karate Robo Zaborgar
As a bit of a fan of Noboru Iguchi and Yoshihiro Nishimura's more recent films (Such as Machine Girl, Robo Geisha and Mutant Girls Squad) I was intrigued as to how well Iguchi's style and Nishimura's special effects would work when used in something other than extreme gore. The result was fantastic.Based on the 1970s tokusatsu TV series, Denjin Zaborgar, the story follows Secret Police officer Yutaka Daimon and his half motorbike/half karate expert robotic partner, the titular Zaborgar.Chapter 1 follows Daimon and Zaborgar's adventures, battling an array of robot enemies. While Chapter 2 takes place 25 years later, with a much older Daimon and his continuing fight against evil.Noboru Iguchi has managed to write and direct an epic tribute to 70s Japanese TV with a fresh new take on the oldschool style, while still maintaining it's original charm. The posing, the special moves. Updated with a couple of scenes of CGI. The costumes are brilliant, almost identical to the originals and a soundtrack reminiscent of tokusatsu tv style. Now, I may have mentioned the original series, but rest assured, you don't need to have seen it. But after watching this (if like myself) you'll want to!

Ottimo - attenzione, italiano non disponibile
Ottimo packaging, ricco e robusto. Non c'è l'italiano come sottotitoli, ho guardato il film con sottotitoli in francese. Un film immancabile per gli amanti del genere (é un poco trash e credo che la storia voglia prendere un poco in giro il genere).

welcome
be che dire chi conosce il personaggio e un film divertente on gusto retro vintage si rifa molto al periodo degli anni 80 nella sua vecchia versione, le musiche per l occasione sono state rifatte come quelle dell epoca..))

Bluray commandé, édition DVD reçue
Le film lui-même vaut le détour pour tout fan de nanars, par contre je ne recommande pas ce vendeur qui manque de sérieux.
