MTD makes the snow thrower I have, although it is plastered with Craftsman badging.I recommend replacing these depending yearly if the thrower is used a lot. My driveway is a bit worn, and I am now replacing these after 3+ years. You can tell how worn your paddles are by looking at the ground contact surfaces of the blower. My scraper blade (located to the rear of the auger, which contacts the ground) was severely worn. As these paddles wear down, the scraper is the only ground contact, so it wears quickly. The scraper blade is reversible so you can flip it over and reattach to renew the edge. Proper yearly maintenance is key to prevent the blower from getting "stuck" on the ground because of metal to ground contact.These rubber paddles "slap" the ground which helps move the blower. This is why there are no wear skids on this machine. (wear skids are common on bigger machines- sacrificial surfaces that wear while you use the machine)Replace the belt while you are at it, and you wont be let down by your machine when it is called upon!

So happy to find this equipment on Amazon as the dealer had discontinued selling this snowblower. They were easy to install and fit perfectly. I expect they will wear for years, like the original equipment. Really happy to find the exact item (part number) on Amazon.

Replaced the blades on the Craftsman Snow Blower and all is well. Seems to have restored the machine to original condition and it now pulls along nicely and tosses the snow properly. Directions were very clear.

The Paddles are not the same rubber surface two Different Pieces or Rubber. The 1 Paddle had a big grinder mark on the face of it. Not happy at all but had to Put on cause the snow storm was on its way.
