Purchased this for eBike after returning a plastic holder that was not nearly as secure, and was a pain to mount the phone (it had a silicon web).This carrier is a well made item of anodized aluminum and fits my Samsung S20 with fairly thick protective case well. Once installed, it is not easily adjustable which is fine by me because it adds to the secure attachment. Two hex-wrenches are included for installation. The head can be rotated in 90-degree increments if you need your phone in landscape mode (NOTE - GUB does make a holder that the head rotates without tools). I like that there are arms that extend down to grip the lower corners of the phone. I did read the couple 1-star reviews that said their phone fell out. Honestly, its hard to imagine, but having a case on the phone as I do does improve grip. Only thing I can think of is the screw-clamp was not seated properly or the user lacked finger-strength to tighten thus their phone was not secured.Instructions are pretty lame - install is straightforward, but there are included rubber pads that you should stick on the 'fingers' of the claw. For me, they were not immediately intuitive. There is also a mystery strip of clear soft plastic.Overall, happy with the purchase, especially for the price. Very rigid install.

My previous plastic phone mount cracked. This one is very well-made and sturdy. It fit my handlebar exactly without using one of the inserts. I have an LG V30 and this mount fits great. The phone has a finger touch sensor on the back and this mount does not obstruct it, the volume controls on the side nor the touch screen. I was concerned that tightening and loosening the finger screw each time to mount/dismount the phone would be slow, but it's very easy and quick. I have a relatively thick plastic case around the phone and this adds some cushioning to the mounting; I recommend the same. The only negatives are that this is not a lightweight mount and if I ever crash and hit the handlebars, the mount may be stronger than my ribs.

I've gone through several phone mounts for handlebars including another gub mount. I've had my phone come loose on several occasions with them and have had to turn around to find my phone on the side of the road. This thick case version is the first handlebar phone mount that fits my Samsung phone with otterbox case securely. Have not had any issues with it. Only think I liked about the other gub mount was its ability to rotate. Gave up that feature with this mount but no longer worry about my phone coming lose if I hit a bump in the road.

I had a silicone mount that was sturdy and simple, but two large straps wrapped over the screen which was a no go. Other silicone options that only wrapped phone corners to allow for screen access just didn't look hardy enough. This metal product is awesome. The quality is great for the price, and I really like the design over any of the silicone options out there. Also, the grips don't reach my volume buttons on my Pixel 3a, which was a relief. Secure and easy access to your phone's functionality - perfect.
